Job Description

A growing service-based organization is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead the performance of a local market. This is a highly visible leadership role with responsibility for business performance, team development, operational execution, customer experience, and continued market growth. The General Manager will oversee a team that includes sales, operations, administrative, and field-based employees. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded business leader who can balance people leadership with financial and operational accountability and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, field-service environment. This opportunity is best suited for someone who enjoys building strong teams, improving business performance, and taking ownership of the overall success of a location or market. Key Responsibilities Own overall market performance, including revenue, profitability, customer experience, employee engagement, and growth Lead, coach, and develop sales, operational, administrative, and field teams Establish performance expectations and ensure teams are accountable for achieving business and operational goals Develop and execute plans to drive organic growth, customer retention, new customer acquisition, and expansion of services Maintain responsibility for market-level financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, expense management, and P&L results Review operational and financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas requiring corrective action Partner with sales leaders and team members to establish targets, evaluate pipeline and performance, and improve results Oversee daily field operations to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and according to established quality standards Ensure appropriate staffing, scheduling, equipment, fleet, and other resources are available to meet business needs Maintain a strong culture of safety, accountability, employee engagement, and continuous improvement Ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and established operating procedures Identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity, service delivery, and overall market performance Build strong relationships across the organization and serve as the primary leader for the local market What We're Looking For Proven leadership experience managing a branch, location, market, or comparable business operation Experience with P&L ownership and demonstrated understanding of financial and operational performance Strong track record of leading, developing, and retaining teams across multiple functions Experience managing both sales and service delivery within a field-based or branch-based organization Ability to analyze business data and translate findings into clear actions and priorities Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing operational demands Demonstrated ability to drive growth while maintaining service quality and operational discipline Strong communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills Bachelor's degree in business, operations, environmental sciences, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent leadership experience will also be considered Preferred Experience Experience within a field-service organization such as landscaping, property services, environmental services, tree care, lawn care, facilities services, construction services, or a related industry is highly desirable. Industry-specific technical knowledge or certifications are beneficial but are not required for an accomplished operational leader who can quickly learn the business.
