About the Opportunity (Twin Cities, MN) Pangea Market is a rapidly growing super market concept expanding to two new locations within 12 months. Alongside Pangea, we are developing Karavan Imports into a centralized wholesale, importing, and food production company. We are seeking a Director of Operations to build the scalable systems needed for this growth. As the ultimate to translate an ambitious vision into an executable, profitable operating reality.

$100,000+ Core Responsibilities Retail Operations & Expansion (O): Lead the operational readiness for two new Pangea locations plus upgradings systems at our current location, establishing budgets, consistency, and profitability targets based on the Master Playbook. Karavan Imports & Distribution (O/D): Design the wholesale operating relationship with Pangea, establishing systems for centralized purchasing, warehousing, international importing, and distribution. Centralized Production (O/D): Recruit specialists to develop the bakery and meat shop into scalable, multi-location operations focusing on strict yield guidelines, food safety, and private-label development. Performance Auditing (O/D): Conduct weekly Store Scorecard reviews, auditing labor (9-12%), enterprise shrink (<2.0%), and overall financial targets across all platforms. Performance Tracking & Analytics (O/D): Build KPI and tracking dashboards to monitor store revenue, sales achievement against targets, labor cost percentages, product yield, customer satisfaction ratings, and order accuracy across all concept locations. Leadership Pipeline (O): Assess, recruit, and develop store directors, assistant managers, and production leaders capable of supporting multiple locations and centralized distribution. Systems & Compliance (O): Implement disciplined POS, transfer, and inventory controls while ensuring 100% compliance with OSHA, HACCP, and broader food safety standards.Qualifications & Leadership Profile Experience:
10+ years in multi-unit grocery, wholesale distribution, or fresh food production, with strong P&L ownership and a proven track record of scaling operations.Strategic Builder:
An "Owner" who creates structure where none exists, highly resourceful, and comfortable making decisions with incomplete information in an entrepreneurial environment.Technical Expertise:
Deep understanding of vendor negotiations, international importing, fresh-food yield maximization, and enterprise retail analytics.Cultural Fit:
