Coordinator for Housing Operations Davidson College United States, North Carolina, Davidson 209 Ridge Road (Show on map) Apr 14, 2026 The Coordinator of Housing Operations at Davidson College supports the daily administrative and operational functions of the Residence Life Office (RLO). This position plays a critical role in assisting with housing assignments, occupancy processes, room changes, billing coordination, and system administration while delivering high-quality, student-centered service. The Coordinator ensures efficient housing operations, accurate data management, and consistent service delivery in support of Davidson College's residential mission. The primary responsibility of this role is to coordinate assigned housing operations functional areas and oversee related processes, as applicable. Essential Responsibilities Housing Operations & Assignments Coordinate housing assignments, room changes, cancellations, and occupancy management for students. Support housing processes including first-year assignments, housing selection, transfer students, study abroad returnees, and mid-year transitions. Assist with waitlists, off-campus permission, early arrivals, and special housing requests. Systems & Data Management Serve as a functional user of the housing management system (e.g., StarRez), supporting assignments, forms, workflows, and report generation. Assist in monitoring housing charges and credits and coordinate with the Controller's Office to ensure accurate student billing. Conduct routine audits and spot checks to maintain data integrity and accuracy of housing records. Help streamline and improve housing processes within the StarRez portal to increase operational efficiency and enhance the user experience for staff and students. Move-In, Move-Out, and Transitions Support fall, spring, and summer move-in and move-out operations, including check-in and check-out procedures. Coordinate early arrival and late stay processes in collaboration with Residence Life staff and campus partners. Support the implementation of operational improvements, including self-check-in processes and updated clearance procedures. Customer Service & Student Support Support the Assistant Director of Housing Operations in responding to housing related inquiries from students, families, faculty, and staff. Assist in addressing concerns with professionalism, empathy, and consistency while upholding housing policies and procedures. Help provide clear guidance on housing timelines, expectations, and processes in coordination with the Assistant Director. Collaboration & Office Support Support training and communication for professional and student staff related to housing operations processes. Assist with developing and maintaining housing operations documentation, procedures, and timelines. Participate in departmental meetings, planning efforts, and campus committees as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required. Experience in housing operations, residence life, student services, or higher education administration. Experience with StarRez and/or Banner. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities during peak operational periods. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated commitment to customer service and working with diverse populations. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in Residence Life and/or Housing Operations at a residential liberal arts college. Knowledge of student billing processes and occupancy management.
