Tidal Tots Childcare Center Organization:

Coastal Family Collaborative Board of Directors Position Summary The Director will provide hands-on leadership for the daily operation of Tidal Tots, supporting children, families, and staff while assisting the center grow as a trusted resource for the Hatteras Island community. Essential Responsibilities Leadership & Administration Oversee the day-to-day operations of Tidal Tots Create a positive, supportive, and team-oriented workplace. Lead, schedule, coach, and evaluate staff Help recruit and hire great teachers and team members Lead staff meetings and support ongoing professional development Licensing & Compliance Maintain compliance with all North Carolina childcare licensing regulations. Maintain employee records and certifications Maintain Emergency and safety procedures Management Help develop and manage the center's annual budget Monitor enrollment, tuition, expenses, and purchasing Assist in administering NC Child Care Subsidies Work with the Board of Directors on grants, fundraising and community partnerships Represent Tidal Tots within Hatteras Island community and build relationships with local schools, non-profits, healthcare providers, and other community organizations Provide regular updates to the Coastal Family Collaborative Board Assist in moving organizational goals and strategic plans forward Attend Board meeting as needed and implement Board-approved policies What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is organized, caring, dependable, and excited about early childhood education and our community. Required Qualifications and experience that meet

requirements for childcare administrator NC Early Childhood Administration Credential Level I or higher, or an approved equivalent - or willingness to obtain one if eligible. Experience leading or supervising a team; 3+ years preferred. Experience with budgets, staff management, and day-to-day operations Strong Communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Knowledge of NC childcare licensing requirements or willingness to learn Ability to meet required

certifications. Support will be provided for required certifications when applicable Must be at least 21 years of age. Preferred Bachelor's or Associates degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Business Administration, or related field. Nonprofit or community organization experience Experience with grants, fundraising, or community partnerships Knowledge of earl childhood quality standards and best practices Most importantly, we're looking for someone who wants to make a difference. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong leadership and team-building skills. Organized and dependable Clear and compassionate communicator Comfortable managing people and budgets Able to work independently while being a part of a team Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Frequent standing, walking, bending, and sitting on the floor with children. Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors. Ability to perform the essential caregiving and supervision functions required when providing classroom coverage. Work Schedule Full-time, generally Monday through Friday. Regular presence during center operating hours is required, with occasional evening or weekend meetings, training, or special events.
Compensation & Benefits Salary:
$55,000-$60,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
Planned benefits include:
Employer-supported stipend of $250 per month anticipated Paid time off Paid holidays Support for required continuing education and professional development Final benefit structure and terms will be governed by policies adopted by Coastal Family Collaborative. Mission Alignment The Director is expected to uphold the mission of Coastal Family Collaborative by fostering a high-quality early learning environment that strengthens children, supports families, and enhances the well-being of the Hatteras Island community. Through collaborative leadership, the Director will ensure that Tidal Tots Childcare Center serves as a trusted resource for early childhood education and family support while advancing the organization's vision of increasing access to quality childcare for local families.
Pay:
$55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
