Job Description

Job Overview Position Responsibilities:
  • Lead the daily execution of manufacturing, warehouse, shipping, and receiving operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and on-time production and order fulfillment.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for production, warehouse, shipping, and receiving personnel while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with the Production Scheduler to execute the production schedule while providing operational feedback related to labor availability, equipment capacity, inventory constraints, quality requirements, and manufacturing efficiencies.
  • Evaluate daily production performance and adjust staffing, workflow, equipment utilization, and material movement to maximize productivity while maintaining safety, quality, and customer service objectives.
  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) including safety, quality, schedule attainment, labor efficiency, inventory accuracy, warehouse performance, equipment utilization, and on-time shipping.
  • Collaborate with the Plant Engineer to coordinate maintenance activities, equipment improvements, capital projects, and process optimization while minimizing operational disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, SOPs, environmental regulations, and all health and safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate operational documentation and utilize ERP and workflow management systems to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Serve as the operational leader in the absence of production supervisors and provide backup support for production scheduling when required.
  • Manage personnel administration for direct reports, including timesheets, PTO, attendance, and other HR-related processes.
Other Duties:
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in response to changing business requirements, actively assuming new responsibilities as needed.
  • Communicate any mechanical, quality, or production issues promptly to the Plant Engineer for timely resolution.
  • Prioritize job quality by identifying areas for improvement, and actively participate in weekly meetings with senior management to discuss concerns and potential enhancements.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, promptly reporting any discrepancies, issues, or unsafe situations to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, promoting workplace efficiency and safety.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Five or more years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, or chemical/process operations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading production teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and project/workflow management software.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead cross-functional operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to occasionally lift and handle items weighing over 50 lbs without assistance.
  • Potential exposure to hazardous chemicals and active chemical ingredients, requiring adherence to safety protocols and procedures. Compensation and Benefits Package
