Hydraulic Job Shop & Service Center Location:
Southeastern North Carolina, with multiple locations between
Richlands, Wallace, and Wilmington Employment Type:
Full-time About the Role We are seeking a hands-on Manager to lead daily operations for a hydraulic job shop and service center serving customers across southeastern North Carolina. This role requires a business-minded leader who can manage employees, build customer relationships, coordinate shop and service work, and keep operations running efficiently and profitably. Previous experience owning or managing a business is required. Working knowledge of hydraulics and/or mechanical aptitude is a plus. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily shop and service operations, coordinating work across multiple locations. Lead, schedule, and support employees while setting clear expectations for quality, productivity, and customer service. Manage job scheduling, workflow, and turnaround times to meet customer commitments. Work with customers to understand their needs, coordinate estimates, and resolve service concerns. Monitor sales, expenses, job costs, and profitability. Oversee inventory, purchasing, vendor relationships, and the availability of parts and supplies. Maintain safe, organized shops and reinforce safe work practices. Develop practical processes that improve efficiency and accountability. Build relationships with existing customers and identify opportunities for new business. Communicate with ownership about performance, staffing, equipment needs, and business priorities. Required Qualifications Prior experience owning or managing a business, including responsibility for employees, customers, and financial performance. Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy shop and service environment. Confidence handling customer concerns and making sound business decisions. Comfort using computers for scheduling, estimates, inventory, and business reporting. Willingness and ability to travel between locations in the Richlands, Wallace, and Wilmington area. Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of hydraulics, hydraulic components, repair, or service. Mechanical aptitude and an interest in understanding how equipment works. Experience in a machine shop, repair facility, industrial service business, or related operation. Familiarity with job costing, estimating, inventory control, and service scheduling. You should be comfortable moving between business management, customer service, and the shop floor, with a practical approach to solving problems and helping the team succeed.
Pay:
From $70,000.00 per year
