We are seeking an experienced Finance & Operations Manager to join our growing firm and provide financial leadership, accounting oversight, and department management. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys working closely with firm leadership, understands the financial side of a professional-services organization, and can bring structure, accuracy, accountability, and forward-thinking financial management to a growing firm. The Finance & Operations Manager will work from our Waxhaw office , serve as the firm's primary financial leader, and work closely with the management team to support the firm's financial health and continued growth. This role will also provide leadership and development for the Finance & Operations function while partnering with other operational leaders to ensure the firm's administrative needs are effectively supported.!
JOB OVERVIEW
The ideal candidate is a highly organized, analytical, and proactive finance professional who is comfortable balancing strategic financial oversight with hands-on execution. This position is responsible for the day-to-day financial and accounting functions of the firm, including accounting oversight, financial reporting, cash management, budgeting, payroll and benefits oversight, internal controls, and process improvement. The Finance & Operations Manager will also supervise and develop the firm's Office & Operations Coordinator and work collaboratively with the Building & Facilities Manager and other firm leaders. This is not a passive role. The successful candidate will be someone who takes ownership, notices when something needs attention, follows issues through to resolution, and looks for ways to make the firm's processes more accurate, efficient, and sustainable.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide leadership and oversight for the firm's day-to-day financial and accounting functions. Oversee the Firm's accounts payable processes and ensure accurate and timely payment of expenses. Perform and review bank reconciliations. Support the Firm's Facilities position in the opening of new offices Demonstrate managerial experience leading teams in alignment with the Firm's core values. Oversee Payroll and Benefits administration. Monitor financial activity and identify unusual or unexpected activity. Coordinate with the firm's CPA and other outside financial professionals. SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
3-5+ years experience with small to mid-size businesses (required). Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, business or related field (preferred). Previous experience in a Law firm setting. (preferred) Knowledge of EOS. Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software. Experience negotiating leases and opening new office locations Experience developing SOPs, internal controls, and process documentation. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Pay:
$70,000-85,000 per year
