We are an established telecommunications contractor seeking an experienced Installation Manager to oversee residential coax and fiber installation operations in the Wilmington and Jacksonville, NC markets. The Installation Manager will oversee approximately 2-3 Installation Supervisors and their field technician teams supporting Spectrum residential installations. This individual will be responsible for overall field performance, staffing, productivity, installation quality, safety, customer service, and operational execution within the assigned market. The ideal candidate has a strong background leading telecommunications installation operations and understands how to manage field teams while balancing customer requirements, technician performance, quality standards, and operational goals. Responsibilities Manage approximately 2-3 Installation Supervisors and their respective technician teams Provide leadership, coaching, and accountability to field Supervisors Oversee daily residential installation operations across the assigned market Ensure staffing levels align with installation volume and customer demand Monitor productivity, quality, customer service, attendance, and technician performance Partner with leadership on technician hiring, onboarding, training, and workforce planning Ensure all installations meet Spectrum, company, OSHA, safety, and quality standards Identify operational issues and implement solutions to improve field performance Review performance metrics and address trends related to productivity, quality, repeat work, or customer satisfaction Ensure Supervisors are effectively coaching and managing their technician teams Support escalated field, customer, and technician issues Oversee scheduling and workforce coverage, including evenings and weekends Ensure vehicles, tools, equipment, and materials are appropriately managed Maintain strong communication with customer leadership regarding field execution and staffing Provide regular operational updates to company leadership Promote a culture of safety, accountability, quality, and strong customer service Support continued growth of the installation operation as technician headcount increases Qualifications Significant experience within cable, coax, fiber, telecommunications, broadband, satellite, or residential installation operations Previous management experience overseeing field Supervisors and/or installation technicians Strong understanding of residential telecom installation operations Demonstrated ability to manage team performance, productivity, quality, and customer expectations Experience hiring, developing, coaching, and managing field employees Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to analyze operational performance and identify areas for improvement Strong organizational and time-management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Comfortable communicating with both field employees and customer leadership Proficiency with basic computer systems, reporting, and operational tracking tools Valid driver's license Ability to pass a background check and MVR Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen Schedule This position supports a residential installation operation that runs across multiple schedules, including weekends.
Technician schedules may include:
Sunday-Wednesday Wednesday-Saturday Friday-Monday Installation shifts may range from approximately: 8:00 AM-6:00 PM 10:00 AM-7:00 PM 12:00 PM-9:00 PM The Installation Manager must have the flexibility to support the operation outside of traditional business hours when staffing, customer, or field issues require attention.
