Cape Fear Public Utility Authority seeks a Water Quality Foreman to lead field crews ensuring safe, reliable drinking water for the Wilmington area. This role plans and oversees water quality sampling, hydrant and main flushing, valve operations, and troubleshooting of distribution system issues. The Foreman schedules and directs staff, enforces safety procedures, and ensures compliance with state and federal water quality regulations. Responsibilities include coordinating with lab and operations teams, maintaining accurate records and reports, supporting emergency response, and modeling CFPUA's values of integrity, accountability, teamwork, and public service while protecting community health and the environment. Responsibilities Lead and supervise field crews performing water quality sampling, flushing, and distribution system maintenance Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily work assignments and resources Ensure compliance with state and federal drinking water regulations and CFPUA standards Troubleshoot water quality and pressure complaints in the distribution system Coordinate with laboratory, treatment, and operations teams for testing and corrective actions Maintain accurate records, logs, and regulatory reports Enforce safety policies and procedures, including field and traffic control safety Train and mentor crew members on technical procedures and best practices Support emergency response to main breaks, service disruptions, and water quality incidents Promote CFPUA's mission, customer service standards, and environmental stewardship Required Skills Water quality testing Laboratory analysis (microbiological/chemical) Distribution system operations Crew supervision and leadership Sample collection and chain-of-custody SCADA and monitoring systems Regulatory compliance (EPA, NCDEQ) Equipment calibration and maintenance Safety and confined-space procedures Report writing and data management
