Job Description

The Transportation Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the company's bulk feed hauling division in Wingate, NC. This role ensures that all customer loads are picked up and delivered on schedule, equipment is properly maintained, and operations run safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Manage the daily operations of feed hauling, ensuring timely and accurate pickup and delivery of all customer loads. Supervise up to 30 employees, including 1-2 direct-report supervisors. Coordinate with customer locations to develop and adjust pickup and delivery schedules based on demand. Maintain strong relationships with customers by ensuring a high level of service and responsiveness. Partner with Human Resources to hire and onboard new employees as needed. Ensure all safety goals are consistently met or exceeded. Monitor in-cab camera systems daily to identify and address safety concerns. Conduct driver ride-alongs and provide coaching and follow-up as needed. Review and submit accurate payroll in a timely manner. Coordinate Workers' Compensation processes, including first reports of injury, restricted duty assignments, and return-to-work plans. Administer random drug testing notifications and ensure proper documentation and compliance. Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule and manage equipment repairs and preventative maintenance. Oversee and maintain maintenance schedules for all assigned equipment. Support the accounting team with document scanning and invoice preparation as needed. Work closely with Human Resources to ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations. Assist with internal investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations in partnership with HR. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or agricultural operations management. Strong knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations. Willingness to be available after hours as needed. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related computer applications. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team leadership skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
