Job Description

Position Overview The District Director is the Chief Operating Officer of one or more districts and supervises one or more professionals in the district or in other districts. Is held accountable for the measurable achievements of the other professionals. Serves as a manager and operating officer of the district(s) and is responsible for the effective organization, operation, and promotion of the council program within the district(s). is responsible for the achievement of district(s) objectives, including the goals. Works with the chairman and commissioner of the district committee(s) and commissioner staff(s) to fulfill their functions and facilitate the optimum collaboration between the district and the board. This position will require travel and work with populations within north eastern North Dakota. This position is comparable to an outside sales, business development, or territory management role within the nonprofit sector. Successful executives build relationships, identify opportunities, recruit volunteers, increase membership, secure financial support, and grow Scouting's presence in their assigned territory. Individuals with backgrounds in sales, fundraising, recruiting, marketing, customer relationship management, or business development often excel in this position.

Total Compensation Package:

$66,036.00 Up to 4.5% Retirement Match Company Car valued at $1500 savings/month. Gas and Oil reimbursement, annual average savings of $1750. 24 PTO days/year 13 Observed Holiday's/year Responsibilities Recruits, develops, and maintains effective volunteers' management team. Maintains a professional working climate that attracts, keeps, and motivates top-quality volunteers. Assures the district has a long-range strategy that achieves its mission and makes consistent progress. Assures that the flow of funds from the district helps the council to achieve its mission. Serves as the chief district spokesman for the council to assure that the council is properly represented. Provides leadership to other professional staff in another district.

Education Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university Qualifications Must be willing to accept and meet Scouting America's leadership and membership standards and subscribe to the Scout Oath and Law. Seeking an individual who is professional in dress, well-spoken and comfortable in social and networking settings. Strong interpersonal, written communication and verbal presentation skills. Highly proficient in computer use. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and PPT). Team player, positive attitude, resourceful, and willing to learn. Eligible for employment in the United States of America and commission from Scouting America. Valid driver's license and ability to be insured. Thrives in a fast-paced environment with passionate and committed people. Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule that frequently includes evenings and weekends. This position operates independently and requires self-discipline, initiative, and a results-oriented mindset to meet fundraising, membership, and volunteer development goals. Ability to communicate effectively with top corporate and community leaders. Organizational skills and proven ability to work with minimal supervision. Well organized, detail oriented and polished staff leadership skills. Excellent analytic skills with a proven commitment to accuracy and timeliness Fiscal management and budget development. Must possess a focus on continuous improvement and growth, both within the organization and within self.
