Job Description

Help run one of Minot's largest early learning centers. The Learning Tree is licensed for 207 children across eleven classrooms, including a Spanish immersion kindergarten. We're looking for an Assistant Director who can keep the building running — someone who's comfortable in the office and just as comfortable stepping into a classroom when we're short. This is a split role. Part of your day is scheduling, enrollment, licensing paperwork, and supporting teachers. The other part is on the floor: covering ratio, helping with a hard afternoon, and knowing every child's name. If you want a desk job, this isn't it. If you want to actually shape how a center runs, keep reading. What you'll do Support the Center Director with daily operations, and serve as the person in charge when the Director is out Build and adjust staff schedules to keep every room in ratio Step into classrooms to cover breaks, call-ins, and coverage gaps Coach and support teachers — onboarding, feedback, and day-to-day problem solving Help families with enrollment, tours, and questions Keep licensing files, training records, and required documentation current Help maintain a safe, clean, well-supervised building What we're looking for Experience in a licensed childcare or early childhood setting Some supervisory, lead teacher, or scheduling experience preferred At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED Able to pass a North Dakota background check, including fingerprinting Infant/pediatric CPR, AED, and pediatric first aid (or willing to complete within 90 days — we provide the class) Steady under pressure, organized, and genuinely good with both kids and adults
A CDA, ECE
coursework, or ND Workforce Registry placement is a plus — and we'll help you get there if you don't have it yet What we offer $20.00 - $23.00 per hour, based on experience Full-time, Monday through Friday — no nights, no weekends Paid training and support toward your CDA credential and ND Career Pathways placement, which can unlock state stipends of $625 to $2,000 Paid holidays and paid time off Childcare discount for your own children A real team that backs each other up
Pay:
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Work Location:
In person
