This hands-on leadership role will build flagging operations within the existing RSS footprint and expand into new Greenfield markets. The National Director will develop strong leadership teams, build customer relationships, establish scalable operations, and drive safety, service, growth, and financial performance. About Road Safety Services (RSS) Road Safety Services (RSS) is one of North America's leading providers of pavement marking and traffic control services. With operations across 23+ states and more than 50 locations, RSS protects the traveling public by delivering critical roadway safety infrastructure. Whether it's 500 feet or 500 miles, we get the job done safely, properly, and on time. Key Objective Build and scale RSS's national flagging platform by establishing a repeatable operating model that can successfully launch and grow operations in existing RSS markets and new Greenfield markets. Key Responsibilities Launch and grow flagging operations across existing RSS markets and new Greenfield opportunities. Identify target markets and develop plans for staffing, equipment, customers, and operational readiness. Recruit, build, lead, and develop flagging management and field teams. Establish consistent operating procedures, safety programs, training standards, and performance expectations. Drive operational performance with accountability for safety, service, productivity, growth, and financial results. Partner with executive leadership on expansion strategy, operating priorities, capital needs, and growth plans. Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors, utilities, data centers, municipalities, state agencies, and other key customers. Serve as a senior customer contact and support local management in strengthening customer relationships. Partner with Estimating on project opportunities, bidding, and operational capacity. Oversee equipment procurement, material needs, and inventory for flagging operations. Monitor crew and equipment productivity and drive daily, weekly, and monthly production plans. Ensure compliance with DOT requirements, safety standards, and company policies. Develop leaders, measure performance, and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Represent RSS at customer meetings, industry associations, and trade events. Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience building and managing private-sector traffic control and flagging operations. Proven experience launching, growing, or managing flagging operations across multiple locations or markets. Proven experience developing customer relationships and delivering flagging and traffic control services within the private sector, including utilities, data centers, telecommunications, industrial facilities, and other infrastructure-related markets. Strong knowledge of flagging operations, temporary traffic control, work zone safety, staffing, equipment, and field execution. Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and lead management and field teams. Strong customer relationship and business development experience within traffic control, utilities, roadway construction, or related infrastructure markets. Experience managing operational performance, budgets, productivity, and profitability. Working knowledge of DOT requirements and applicable traffic control and safety regulations. Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the United States. Why Join RSS?
