Executive Director About SOS Recovery Community Organization SOS Recovery Community Organization is a peer-based recovery community organization providing peer-recovery support services and harm reduction across New Hampshire. As a leader in the region, SOS operates one of the largest statewide peer-led criminal justice recovery support programs, a successful workforce development social enterprise via the Fold'd Community Diner in Somersworth, and delivers wide-scale training across New England and within the Department of Corrections. Expanding our footprint, SOS is currently launching a new adolescent and family program to support youth engaged in risky behavior alongside our juvenile diversion program in Carroll County. Position Overview The Director of Operations is a key leadership position responsible for leading all aspects of daily operations, program infrastructure, and staff development. This role bridges strategic organizational vision with frontline execution, ensuring high efficiency, strict compliance, and a supportive and participatory, peer-led environment. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional data analysis skills, strong financial acumen, and a deep alignment with harm reduction and peer-recovery values.

Responsibilities:

Manages the daily business functions, infrastructure, compliance, and administrative systems that support the organization. Manages, mentors, and evaluates operations and support staff, fostering an environment rooted in a peer-participatory model Participates in the hiring and training of departmental managers and supervisors. Organizes and oversees the work and schedules of departmental managers, supervisors and support staff teams. Oversee hiring, development, mentoring, discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy. Oversees daily facility and program operations, workflow logistics, and administrative infrastructure to ensure a safe, welcoming, and effective environment. Assists with budgeting, tracks expenses, reconciles financial reports, and works in collaboration with Accounting Manager and Executive Director to ensure compliance with federal, state, and grant-funded contract requirements Establishes quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the company's efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for improvement. Maintains adherence to organizational policies, safety protocols, and accreditation or state certification standards. Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business procedures. Collaborates with executive leadership, external referral networks, local stakeholders, and other community health organizations to expand organizational reach. Implements policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations. Ensures work environments are adequate, trauma-informed and safe. Coordinate logistics support for program implementation, including RCC scheduled activities, trainings, workshops, and events Oversees recovery support and harm reduction programs and services across all programs to ensure each is reaching goals set by departmental and company leadership. Communicates and develops standard operating procedures to explain new directives, policies, or procedures to managers and staff; for major changes, meets with entire operations staff to explain changes, answer questions, and maintain morale. Improves participant service and satisfaction through policy and procedural changes. Leads coordination and integration of efforts among operations for recovery support services across all recovery and harm reduction programs and services to produce smoother workflow and more cost-effective and efficient processes. Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, participants the industry, and community. Contributes and participates in strategic planning and implementation and monitoring of the strategic plan. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills/Abilities:

Thorough understanding of practices, theories, and policies involved in business and finance. Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Superior managerial and diplomacy skills. Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Proficient in Microsoft Excel with experience in advanced spreadsheet tools including regression analysis for compliance and reporting requirements. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Financial and budgeting acument to work with Executive Director and Accounting Manager on departmental budgeting and revenue forecasts. Demonstrated proficiency in Motivational Interviewing Excellent communication, organizational, planning and time management skills Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings as necessary Working knowledge of harm reduction strategies and a variety of addiction recovery modalities and ability to articulate the delivery of multiple pathways of recovery in a community-based setting Ability to consider and incorporate diverse perspectives, while brokering positive relationships Ability to adapt approach, style, and methods to best engage and empower community partners Ability to listen and integrate community stakeholder feedback and recommendations

Education and Experience:

Masters Degree preferred, or a combination of education and equivalent significant demonstrated experience. Extensive and diversified background with at least 5 years of non-profit related experience. Trained in Recovery Support Services with a NH Certified Recovery Support Worker credential and approved or eligible for approval as a CRSW Supervisor in

Pay:

$68,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
