Where You Will Work Chino is an open-pit copper mining complex located 15 miles from the historic mining community of Silver City in southwestern New Mexico. The historic Chino mine was among the world's first low-grade, open-pit copper mines. Today, the operation consists of a 36,000-metric-ton-per-day concentrator that produces copper and a 150-million-pound-per-year solvent extraction/electrowinning plant that produces copper cathode from solution generated by run-of-mine leaching. • Establish tactical and strategic goals, objectives, policies and procedures in assigned area within the business.
• Direct Supervisors and other staff in daily operations; inspect daily operations and projects in progress and upon completion to ensure quality of work.
• Provide administrative and technical direction to staff; interpret policies and procedures established by regulatory agencies.
• Oversee and recommend the selection of key staff; participate in the selection of staff.
• Work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement disciplinary procedures and recommend terminations; investigate complaints and recommend corrective action as necessary.
• Forecast necessary funds for staffing, materials and supplies, and capital improvement projects.
• Submit budget recommendations and justifications; monitor and control expenditures.
• Develop, plan, and coordinate the work plan for assigned projects and responsibilities, which may include project management, cost estimates and program development; coordinate work with other units and site departments.
• Provide information and resources to site officials and other departments; answer questions and provide information to the public.
• Review Capital Improvement Plans and make recommendations.
• Evaluate infrastructure, facilities and operating systems for needed maintenance and repair.
• Coordinate the activities of consultants and contractors.
• Perform other duties as required. ## What You Bring To Freeport
• High School diploma or GED and seven (7) years of related operational experience, including supervisory or management experience, OR
• Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of related operational experience, including supervisory or management experience.
• Additional certifications or licensure appropriate to the job may be required, depending upon the department/site.
• Skilled in supervising, evaluating, training and motivating employees.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, direct and manage a diverse number of operational areas, projects and activities.
• Skilled in preparing, defending, monitoring and administering budgets.
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing ## Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Milling, Slurry Pumping, Water Recovery and Tailings Deposition
• 7 Years of Leadership Experience What We Offer You The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $112,000 - $160,000.

This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional incentive compensation considerations based on company and individual performance. Additionally, this position is currently eligible for annual long-term incentive consideration.
