00 / yr United States, York, Astoria Sep 03, 2026 Overview Monitor operations required for the installation, testing preparation, and maintenance of transmission system for high pressure, low pressure, and solid dielectric systems and associated equipment. Includes transmission cable splicing (solid dielectric, high-and low-pressure cable installations), cable pulling, pipe preparation (including welding), testing following cable installation, and the operation and maintenance of the in-service transmission system (including responding to leaks and feeder failures). May include contractor oversight during planned or emergency work. This position does not provide employment pursuant to the terms of a

Training Plan. Responsibilities Core Responsibilities

Plan and prepare materials, equipment, and manpower for transmission operations in coordination with desk planners.

Supervise installation, maintenance, and repair of high-pressure, low-pressure, and solid dielectric transmission cables and associated equipment.

Ensure crews comply with all safety, environmental, and operational procedures, conduct job briefings and safety talks.

Coordinate work with other departments and monitor progress, keeping stakeholders informed of job status.

Maintain accurate daily logs of field activities and analyze crew performance data to improve productivity.

Oversee contractor activities and approve construction-related documentation to ensure safety and compliance.

Promote employee development, operational excellence, and cost management while fostering a positive safety culture.

Support emergency response, off-shift work, and special projects as needed, including serving as Incident Commander.

Incorporate Human Performance Improvement (HPI) tools and STKY principles into daily operations.

Perform other related tasks and assignments to meet departmental objectives. Qualifications Required Education/Experience Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of related work experience. or

Associate's Degree and 4 years of related work experience. or

High School Diploma/GED and 6 years of related work experience.

Preferred Education/Experience Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of supervisor related work experience.

Relevant Work Experience Related experience includes experience in the operation, maintenance, inspection, engineering or construction of power generation, electric transmission or electric distribution systems/equipment, required.

Experience reading prints and diagrams is required.

Requires flexibility, initiative, strong oral and written communications skills, required.

Must be knowledgeable in operating rules, environmental procedures and safety procedures and policies, required.

Requires strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with various levels of personnel, required.

Must be proficient in basic utilization of Microsoft outlook, word and excel, required.

Experience in direct supervisory experience preferred.

Work experience in either cable installation, splicing or pipe work in the electric transmission system is preferred.

Proficiency in and Work Management applications is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications Driver's License Required

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

Physical Demands Ability to respond to system emergencies

Able to work in all weather conditions, i.e. excessive heat and/or cold

Work rotating shifts, including nights, midnights, weekends, and holidays

Additional Physical Demands

The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.

Must be able to work in electrical substations and generating stations as required

Must be willing and able to climb ladders and stairs throughout shift as required

Must be willing and able to pull/push/lift up to 50lbs.

Must be approved and willing to wear appropriate respirator, including half/full face respirator without facial hair or any other impeding condition
