Job Overview An Events Operations Manager oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of events, managing teams, budgets, logistics, and client relationships to ensure successful and seamless event delivery.
Key Responsibilities Event Planning and Execution:
Plan, coordinate, and execute all aspects of events, including live, virtual, and hybrid formats, ensuring smooth operations from start to finish.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and guide the event team, delegate tasks, conduct regular check-ins, and mentor junior staff to enhance professional growth.
Client and Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate with clients to understand objectives, liaise with vendors, negotiate contracts, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and venues.
Budget and Resource Management:
Develop and manage event budgets, monitor costs, forecast future expenses, and ensure cost-efficiency.
Operational Oversight:
Handle logistics, technical delivery, floorplan design, and production requirements, ensuring compliance with safety and legal standards.
Problem-Solving and Issue Resolution:
Act as the first point of contact for operational challenges, troubleshoot emergencies, and escalate issues when necessary.
Post-Event Evaluation:
Conduct evaluations, report outcomes, and implement process improvements for future events. Required Skills and Competencies Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple events simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and team coordination. Negotiation and vendor management skills to secure services and materials efficiently. Technical proficiency in event management software, MS Office, and tools like for floorplan design. Problem-solving aptitude and the ability to make quick, informed decisions under pressure. Attention to detail and adherence to deadlines to ensure high-quality event delivery. Qualifications Proven experience as an Event Operations Manager or in a similar role. Bachelor's degree in hospitality, event management, marketing, or a related field is preferred. Experience in budget management, team leadership, and operational planning is highly valued. Work Environment Full-time role with flexibility in work hours, including weekends and evenings, depending on event schedules. Hands-on involvement in major events and oversight of smaller projects, often requiring on-site presence. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including production, marketing, sales, and finance, to ensure cohesive event delivery. An Events Operations Manager plays a central role in ensuring events are executed efficiently, meet client expectations, and leave a positive impression on attendees, combining strategic planning with hands-on operational management.
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
