Job Summary Lead Exceptional Events at One of the Nation's Premier Universities Are you a hospitality professional who thrives on creating unforgettable experiences? Chartwells Higher Education is seeking a dynamic Senior Catering Director to lead a high-performing catering operation at Binghamton University, a nationally recognized institution known for academic excellence and a vibrant campus community. In this exciting leadership role, you will oversee all aspects of catering operations, from high-profile university events and executive functions to student celebrations and community gatherings. You'll partner closely with campus stakeholders, culinary teams, and operational leaders to deliver exceptional food, service, and hospitality while driving innovation and profitability. What You'll Do Lead and manage all catering operations for on-campus and off-campus events Build and maintain strong relationships with university clients, administrators, faculty, and community partners Collaborate with culinary leadership to develop creative, trend-forward menus that exceed guest expectations Recruit, train, mentor, and develop catering staff to deliver outstanding service and hospitality Ensure flawless event execution through detailed planning, communication, and coordination Monitor and manage labor, food costs, and event profitability while maintaining exceptional quality standards Drive sales growth by identifying new catering opportunities and enhancing the client experience Maintain compliance with company standards, food safety regulations, and university policies What We're Looking For Catering leadership experience in hospitality, higher education, hotels, conference centers, or large-scale foodservice operations Proven ability to manage multiple events and priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, labor, and food costs Excellent client relationship management and customer service skills Outstanding communication, organizational, and leadership abilities Associate degree preferred Three to five years of foodservice management experience preferred Catering experience required Why You'll Love This Opportunity Lead catering operations at a prestigious university with a thriving campus culture Showcase creativity through unique menus and memorable event experiences Partner with talented culinary and hospitality professionals Make a meaningful impact on students, faculty, alumni, and special guests Enjoy growth opportunities with a leading foodservice and hospitality organization Apply to Chartwells Higher Education today!
