Shipping, Receiving & Equipment Location:
Brockport, NY
Full-Time | Salaried Management Position Are you an experienced agricultural operations professional who enjoys being hands-on while leading people, equipment, and logistics? We are seeking a Crops Operations Manager - Shipping, Receiving & Equipment to oversee key post-harvest operations for a well-established agricultural organization in Brockport, NY. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role responsible for keeping products, people, equipment, and transportation moving efficiently throughout the operation. The ideal candidate brings a strong agricultural background along with experience in farm operations, logistics, shipping and receiving, inventory management, equipment, and seasonal workforce leadership. What You'll Do
Lead the Team
Supervise and schedule H2A and hourly employees supporting packing, shipping, receiving, and equipment operations.
Train and coach employees on safety, packing standards, quality, and operating procedures.
Create an organized, productive work environment while ensuring compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements.
Oversee Packing & Inventory
Manage day-to-day packing operations to maintain quality, accuracy, and productivity.
Oversee inventory receiving, tracking, reconciliation, and reporting.
Maintain accurate records within inventory management systems.
Identify opportunities to improve packing workflows, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.
Manage Shipping, Receiving & Logistics
Oversee shipping and receiving activities from start to finish.
Coordinate truck scheduling, loading, transportation, and product movement.
Ensure proper reefer temperature controls and product-handling standards.
Coordinate trucking and logistics during busy harvest periods.
Keep Equipment & Operations Moving
Oversee the use and readiness of agricultural and packing equipment.
Coordinate equipment maintenance and assist with troubleshooting operational issues.
Ensure equipment is ready to support harvesting, packing, and logistics.
Identify opportunities to improve equipment utilization and overall efficiency.
Drive Continuous Improvement
Partner with leadership to improve logistics, inventory accuracy, workflow, and operational performance.
Use reporting and operational data to identify problems and recommend solutions.
Help create efficient processes that can adapt to changing crop cycles and seasonal demands.
What We're Looking For
3-5+ years of agricultural operations management or farm production leadership experience.
Strong understanding of crop production, including planting, land preparation, harvesting, and post-harvest operations.
Experience with packing operations, logistics, shipping/receiving, and inventory management.
Experience leading H2A and/or seasonal agricultural employees.
Knowledge of agricultural equipment with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, seasonal agricultural environment.
Valid driver's license required.
CDL-A preferred or willingness to obtain.
Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agriculture, or a related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered.
Work Environment This is an active, hands-on agricultural leadership position. The role requires the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, operate around agricultural equipment and machinery, and lift up to 50 pounds. During peak planting and harvest seasons, flexibility to work extended hours, including occasional weekends and holidays, may be required. Why Consider This Opportunity?
