Job Summary Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager the primary purpose of the Production Supervisor is to plan, direct, or coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing and shipment of products in accordance with company requirements for safety, cost, quality, and productivity. Essential Responsibilities Direct supervision of operational personnel and production activities. Provide leadership, participate in, audit, and train/coach on all production related site safety processes, such as LOTO, Confined space entry, Line Breaking, etc. Support safety initiatives and ensure production personnel accountability in the areas of environmental, health, and safety, housekeeping, quality, and production standards, and help drive a safety first work culture. Meet and ensure productivity targets are achieved and all process are running according to company goals. Monitor, and record production and shipping data, including SAP transactions for material movements. Review, adjust, and approve timecards for employees under your supervision. Assist with hiring personnel through screening, interviewing, and onboarding. Assist with employee development through performance feedback, evaluation, coaching, employee recognition, or disciplinary action as required. Owns and reviews production procedures to ensure proper operation of the plant and support continual improvement. Enter incident reports and conduct investigations for quality and safety. Execute and improve upon employee training programs. Prepare production progress and status reports. Maintain production and personnel records. Monitor equipment operation to ensure proper functioning, report any production problems, equipment deficiencies or failures, coordinate with the maintenance and other departments as needed in a timely manner to resolve. Determine specific material, equipment, or labor requirements for production and give feedback on suggested improvements.. Supervision and support of inventorying, organization, and ordering materials, supplies, or equipment related to production and warehouse. Conformance with the Valtris Quality and Environmental, Health, Safety and Security policies and awareness of ISO 9001 and RC14001 management system requirements applicable to this position. Acts as backup supervisor to shipping and warehouse, to ensure orders are scheduled, picked accurately, wrapped and packed properly, transacted in SAP, and shipped on time to our customers according to
DOT, ISO
9001, and FIFO requirements with proper documentation. Performs other duties and responsibilities, as necessary. Physical Requirements Must be physically able to operate variety of electronic office equipment - computer, printer, radio, phone. At times, prolonged periods of sitting at desk working on computer/workstation and on calls. May occasionally need to lift up to 50 pounds. May occasionally need to bend, stoop, reach and/or twist at the waist. Ability based upon position and need to perform duties/visit/walk through a manufacturing environment with the following conditions: chemical and mechanical operations, dust and fumes, working within safe but proximity to forklift and machine operations, exposure to heat and humidity, hearing or talking around loud machinery. Wearing of personal protective equipment as required. Respiratory fit testing is required Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Degree in Business administration, Logistics, Engineering or technical field a plus. 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment. 1-2 years of supervisory experience. SAP experience preferred. Must be able to periodically work nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and schedule changes as the business requires. Experience with Lean/Six Sigma or other improvement methodologies is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels within the plant. Computer literate -proficient in Internet navigation, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SAP. Demonstrated skills in ISO 9001, BOL's,DOT, CofA's, and FIFO Order Management preferred. We offer a competitive salary and benefit plans focused on the well-being of our employees.
