Operations Manager -Transportation Location:
Columbus, OH Schedule:
Monday-Friday, approximately 6:30 AM-4:30 PM (hours may vary based on business needs)Salary:
$120,000 per year + performance-based bonus Position Overview We are seeking an experienced transportation leader to oversee daily logistics operations, lead supervisors and CDL Class A drivers, and ensure customer and operational objectives are consistently achieved. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in transportation management, DOT compliance, driver operations, safety, KPI management, employee development, fleet oversight, and financial performance. Key Responsibilities Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, drivers, and operational associates. Oversee daily transportation operations and CDL Class A drivers. Monitor driver performance, HOS compliance, routes, and on-time deliveries. Manage operational KPIs, customer requirements, and productivity goals. Identify opportunities for route optimization, cost reduction, and process improvement. Develop and execute financial and operating plans and manage P&L performance. Maintain a strong safety culture and ensure DOT and regulatory compliance. Conduct safety observations, audits, and performance reviews. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, employees, vendors, and internal teams. Improve fleet utilization, equipment availability, and fuel efficiency. Lead continuous improvement initiatives and drive operational excellence. Qualifications 10+ years of transportation, logistics, or operations management experience. 7+ years of managerial/supervisory experience in a DOT-regulated transportation environment. Proven experience managing supervisors and/or a mid-size to large team. Experience managing CDL Class A drivers strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and HOS compliance. Experience with driver tracking, routing, delivery performance, and transportation metrics. Proven ability to train, coach, and develop employees. Experience managing KPIs, P&L, and financial/operational performance. Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills. High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.Pay:

Have you personally led a safety culture/program involving DOT compliance, HOS, safety observations, coaching, corrective actions, and accident/incident prevention? Have you owned or directly managed a transportation operation's P&L/budget and used KPIs to drive measurable improvements in productivity, cost, service, or profitability? Are you comfortable being a highly visible, hands-on OM1 leader responsible for supervisors, CDL drivers, safety, fleet, customer issues, employee engagement, and overall operational performance?Work Location:
