Montessori Kids Universe Powell is seeking a dynamic, growth-minded Director / Head of School to lead our school into its next chapter. This is more than a traditional childcare director position. It is an opportunity to build an exceptional team, grow enrollment, strengthen school culture, create operational excellence, develop meaningful relationships with families, and become a recognized leader in the Powell community. We are looking for someone who is equally comfortable leading a team, connecting with families, conducting an engaging school tour, analyzing enrollment numbers, developing staff, solving operational challenges, and representing Montessori Kids Universe in the community. You Will Be Supported Great school leaders should never feel like they are doing it alone. As the Director / Head of School, you will receive: Direct support and collaboration from school ownership A dedicated Montessori Kids Universe Corporate Support Specialist providing ongoing operational and growth guidance Leadership development and Montessori training through the Montessori Kids Universe Training Institute (MKUTI) Established systems, technology, marketing resources, and corporate support Professional development designed to help you grow as a school leader You will have the resources and support necessary to focus on what matters most: your students, your families, your team, and the continued growth of the school. Position Summary The Director / Head of School serves as the strategic, operational, cultural, and enrollment leader of Montessori Kids Universe Powell. This individual is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the school while creating an exceptional experience for children, families, and employees. A major focus of this position is school growth and enrollment development . The Director / Head of School will actively build awareness of Montessori Kids Universe throughout the community, develop relationships with prospective families, lead the inquiry and tour process, monitor enrollment trends, and create strategies that support sustainable growth. The successful candidate will combine strong leadership, operational discipline, exceptional communication, enrollment-focused thinking, and a genuine passion for early childhood education. Responsibilities include:
Develop and execute the school's vision, mission, culture, and long-term goals Create a positive, professional, collaborative, and accountable workplace culture Recruit, onboard, mentor, coach, and retain high-performing employees Build a leadership team that reflects Montessori Kids Universe standards and values Conduct staff meetings, evaluations, coaching conversations, and professional development Establish clear expectations while supporting employees in reaching their potential Recognize successes and create a culture where employees feel valued and supported Lead by example with professionalism, positivity, integrity, and consistency Address employee and operational challenges promptly and professionally Create systems and procedures that promote efficiency and accountability Enrollment, Admissions & School Growth Growing the school will be one of your most important priorities. The Director / Head of School will actively drive enrollment by creating an exceptional experience from a family's first inquiry through enrollment and beyond.
Responsibilities include:
Respond promptly and professionally to prospective family inquiries Schedule and conduct engaging school tours Provide consistent follow-up with prospective families using established CRM protocols Build relationships with prospective parents and guide them through the enrollment process Maintain accurate inquiry, tour, enrollment, waitlist, and attrition records Track leads and enrollment activity using Childcare CRM, LineLeader, Procare, and other school management systems Analyze inquiries, tours, applications, enrollments, attrition, classroom openings, and conversion rates Develop enrollment projections and identify opportunities for growth Monitor classroom capacity and full-time enrollment equivalents Maintain accurate student rosters, including summer enrollment Develop strategies for filling available classroom openings Partner with ownership and corporate support to achieve enrollment goals Community Outreach & Marketing You will serve as one of the primary faces of Montessori Kids Universe Powell within the community.
Responsibilities include:
Attend community events, educational fairs, networking opportunities, and family-focused events Coordinate and host school Open Houses Build relationships with local businesses and community organizations Develop partnerships with organizations serving families with infants and young children Increase brand awareness for Montessori Kids Universe throughout the Powell community Develop relationships with local private schools and schools of choice Host informational events that connect families with future educational opportunities Identify new opportunities to introduce Montessori Kids Universe to prospective families Collaborate with ownership and corporate marketing resources on enrollment campaigns Encourage strong family engagement, referrals, reviews, and community involvement Family Experience & Retention Enrollment does not end when a child starts school. You will work to create an environment where families feel informed, respected, welcomed, and connected.
Responsibilities include:
Build meaningful relationships with currently enrolled families Maintain consistent, professional communication with parents Participate in family meetings, school events, and community activities Proactively address family concerns Support parent education regarding Montessori philosophy and classroom practices Monitor student retention and identify potential attrition concerns Develop strategies that strengthen family satisfaction and long-term retention Maintain relationships with alumni families when appropriate Support the transition of graduating students to their next educational environment Academic & Montessori Excellence The Director / Head of School will help ensure that every classroom reflects the quality families expect from Montessori Kids Universe.
Responsibilities include:
Ensure classrooms support authentic Montessori practices and principles Maintain beautiful, organized, developmentally appropriate learning environments Observe classrooms and provide meaningful feedback to teachers Coach and mentor teachers in classroom management and Montessori practices Collaborate with faculty regarding student placement and development Support teachers in maintaining student profiles and developmental information Communicate with teaching teams regarding tours, Open Houses, child visits, parent visits, and school events Ensure staff participate in required Montessori Kids Universe training Promote continuous professional development throughout the school School Operations & Compliance Strong leadership requires strong systems.
Responsibilities include:
Oversee the daily operations of the school Maintain compliance with Ohio childcare licensing requirements Ensure licensing documentation and school records remain accurate and current Monitor staffing levels and classroom ratios Coordinate employee schedules based on enrollment and operational needs Maintain appropriate personnel documentation Oversee admissions and student records Ensure new student records are created accurately in Procare Maintain records for reenrolled, withdrawn, and graduating students Provide teachers with updated rosters and parent contact information as needed Maintain accurate operational and enrollment reports Assist with school financial reporting and budgeting Monitor payroll and staffing expenses Support efficient use of school resources Maintain a safe, organized, professional environment Ensure school policies and procedures are consistently followed Data, Technology & Reporting The successful candidate should be comfortable using technology and data to make decisions.
