ABOUT THE ROLE
Simple Recycling / DonateStuff.com Brands is looking for a Trucking Operations / Business Manager to oversee daily operations across multiple depots and drive our trucking and last-mile delivery function. This role owns the full operational picture: Team leadership of fleet routing and dispatch, depot performance, driver and staff coordination, and the systems and processes that keep everything running efficiently. You'll establish and maintain best practices that scale across locations, using technology platforms like Samsara and Route4Me to keep operations data-driven and accountable. This is an in-person, hands-on leadership role based at our Solon, OH headquarters (44139). Managing and overseeing processes across regional operations in Cleveland, Detroit, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Minneapolis and Chicago, with some travel to depot locations.WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Oversee day-to-day trucking and last-mile delivery operations across multiple depot locations
- Establish, document, and maintain standard operating procedures and best practices for depot and fleet operations
- Use Samsara and Route4Me (or similar platforms) to manage fleet tracking, routing, dispatch, and driver performance
- Monitor key operational metrics (on-time performance, cost per stop/mile, fleet utilization, safety) and drive continuous improvement
- Partner with depot leads and dispatch teams to solve operational issues and maintain consistency across locations
- Travel periodically to depot sites to support operations, audit compliance, and reinforce best practices
- Manage relationships with drivers, depot staff, and vendors to ensure smooth daily execution
- Support hiring, training, and performance management for operations staff
- Ensure compliance with DOT and other applicable trucking/transportation regulations
- Report on operational performance and business metrics to leadership
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Proven experience in last-mile delivery or trucking operations management
- Strong working knowledge of fleet/route management technology, specifically Samsara and Route4Me
- 3-5 years of experience in operations management, ideally overseeing multiple sites or depots
- Demonstrated ability to build, document, and roll out operational best practices across locations
- Strong analytical skills with comfort using data and technology to manage performance
- Solid understanding of DOT regulations and trucking compliance
- Willingness and ability to travel to depot locations as needed
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in person at our Solon, OH location
