Job Description

Provides support and assistance to eligible applicants/participants by performing nutrition activities related to nutritional risk factors, including selecting and providing basic and/or customized supplemental food packages to participants while providing individualized nutrition education based on the assessment of health and nutrition information obtained. In addition, performs applicant/participant eligibility and certification; provide explanation of the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program, its benefits, and basic nutrition education to participants; and enters and retrieves participant information in an automated information system. Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate's Degree in Health or Social Services preferred At least two years' experience in related field Must obtain or remain compliant on nutrition or para-professional training curriculum Must obtain or remain compliant on blood pathology training Must be able to maintain a heavy caseload Must be able to lift at least 20 pounds Must be able to prioritize day-to-day operations Requires traveling to various WIC sites Must be a highly self-motivated individual Must maintain confidential records and data Must provide superior customer service Must maintain a professional attitude and appearance that positively represents the Nation Requires a high level of personal integrity and ethics Requires a high level of problem solving skills Requires the willingness and ability to learn new skills, including travel to conferences and training sessions Responsible for the core lab set up at each location Requires the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite programs Requires good interpersonal communication and team work skills Must be able to pass a criminal background check Must be able to pass drug/alcohol testing Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record - may be required to drive GSA or tribal vehicles
