Job Summary The Valley Ambulance Authority is seeking an experienced, motivated, and highly organized Business Operations Manager to oversee the Authority's administrative, financial, and business operations. This leadership position plays a critical role in supporting daily EMS operations through effective management of human resources, finance, billing, compliance, customer service, and administrative functions. The Business Operations Manager will work closely with the Executive Director/Chief of EMS and leadership team to ensure efficient organizational operations, regulatory compliance, and exceptional service to the communities we serve. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership abilities, exceptional organizational skills, and experience in healthcare, EMS, municipal government, or nonprofit administration. Essential Responsibilities Oversee the day-to-day administrative operations of the Authority. Supervise business office personnel, including scheduling, training, performance management, and professional development. Assist with budgeting, financial reporting, purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and fiscal planning. Oversee EMS billing operations and revenue cycle management while working collaboratively with third-party billing vendors. Monitor organizational performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and customer service. Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and EMS regulatory requirements. Assist with employee onboarding, benefits administration, personnel records, and human resource functions. Coordinate insurance, workers' compensation, unemployment, and other administrative programs. Manage contracts, vendor relationships, and procurement activities. Maintain confidentiality of employee, patient, and organizational information. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director/Chief of EMS. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, or a related field preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible management experience in healthcare, EMS, municipal government, nonprofit administration, or a related field. Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial management, human resources, and business operations. Experience with healthcare or EMS billing and revenue cycle management preferred. Knowledge of payroll systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and financial management software. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment. Preferred Qualifications Experience working within an EMS agency, ambulance service, hospital, municipal authority, or public safety organization. Experience with grant management and nonprofit financial reporting. Knowledge of Pennsylvania EMS regulations and healthcare compliance. Experience with payroll, accounting, or EMS software platforms.
