Class One Property Restoration is seeking an experienced Water Mitigation Manager to lead our water damage and emergency mitigation division. This role oversees mitigation projects from first notice of loss through drying completion and hand-off to reconstruction. The ideal candidate combines hands-on technical knowledge of structural drying with strong leadership, customer service, and job-costing skills. Project and Field Operations Oversee all water mitigation projects, from emergency response through final drying and demobilization. Perform or review initial site inspections, moisture mapping, and loss assessments. Classify water damage by category and class, and set drying plans that follow the
IICRC S500
standard. Direct equipment placement, daily moisture monitoring, and drying documentation. Identify when mold, asbestos, lead, or other hazards may be present and escalate per company procedures. Coordinate hand-off to the reconstruction team at the end of mitigation. Team Leadership Supervise, schedule, and support mitigation crew leads and technicians. Manage the on-call and after-hours emergency response rotation. Train and coach staff on drying techniques, safety, equipment, and documentation. Conduct performance check-ins and support hiring for the mitigation team. Enforce safe work practices, PPE use, and OSHA requirements on every job site. Estimating, Documentation, and Job Costing Prepare or review mitigation estimates using Xactimate or company-approved software.
Ensure complete job files:
photos, moisture logs, drying reports, work authorizations, and signed documents. Monitor job budgets, labor, materials, and equipment use to protect gross margin. Support timely invoicing and collections by closing out job files promptly. Customer, Adjuster, and Partner Relations Serve as the main point of contact for propertyowners during mitigation, explaining the process in plain language. Communicate with insurance adjusters and third-party administrators on scope and documentation. Clearly separate Class One's scope of work from the insurance carrier's coverage decisions when speaking with customers. Build relationships with agents, property managers, plumbers, and commercial clients to grow referrals. Equipment and Inventory Manage drying equipment inventory, including dehumidifiers, air movers, air scrubbers, and meters. Track equipment maintenance, cleaning, and repair. Recommend equipment purchases to support job volume and growth. Business Growth Help meet division revenue, margin, and customer satisfaction goals. Identify and pursue new mitigation opportunities (commission eligible
