This position is responsible for overseeing the performance, compliance, and consistency of water and wastewater operations across the region. This role provides direct supervision of Operations Managers and ensures facilities operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements. This position reports to the Director of Operations. Essential Job Responsibilities Oversee regional operational performance across multiple facilities and support Operations Managers in daily operations and leadership responsibilities. Conduct regular field visits to assess facility conditions, operational practices, and team performance. Lead operations meetings, review operational performance, and address regional priorities and challenges. Develop, implement, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensure consistent operating practices across the region. Support development and execution of preventive maintenance programs and corrective action plans. Provide direct supervision, coaching, and performance management for Operations Managers. Support workforce planning, scheduling, staffing decisions, and resource allocation. Maintain strong client relationships and participate in client meetings as needed. Oversee regional operating budgets, contract performance, and procurement coordination. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental and public health regulations. Oversee monitoring, reporting, permit compliance activities, and emergency response coordination. Any other duties, as necessary, to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the values of the organization. Required Skills/Knowledge High school graduate or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in water/wastewater operations. Minimum of 5-10 years of supervisory or management experience, including oversight of managers or multiple sites. Valid PA Driver's License, Class C required. Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Advanced knowledge of wastewater and/or water treatment operations, DEP regulations, NPDES permits, safety standards, and computer-operated control systems. Physical Requirements - Work Environment Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, crouch, reach, and lift as required throughout treatment facilities and field sites. Frequently exposed to indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, including weather extremes, chemicals, odors, noise, and moving mechanical equipment. Ability to wear required PPE and safely navigate treatment plant environments. Daily Work Location/Hours The employee will be responsible for traveling between assigned facilities throughout the region based on operational needs and established schedules. This position requires flexibility in work hours, including evening, weekend, and on-call responsibilities to support operational needs and emergency response.
