Finance/Operations Director (Full-time, salaried, exempt position)
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Finance/Operations Director leads the organization's financial management and operational infrastructure. Reporting to the CEO and serving on the senior leadership team, this role carries primary responsibility for budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, and audit readiness, along with oversight of core operational functions that keep Centre Helps running smoothly. The Finance/Operations Director plays a key role in ensuring the organization's financial health supports its crisis prevention mission, including basic needs case management, the 988 crisis hotline, and youth programming, and that funders, the Board, and staff have accurate, timely financial information. The Fnance/Operations Director's central responsibility is to work with the CEO to create and monitor budgets and track spending, especially spending related to specific grants. Other specific components of the F/O Director's responsibilities include 1)Managing payable/receivable accounts 2) processing payroll 3) keeping financial records up to date and accurate in Quickbooks. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously is critical. Flexible scheduling; some evening and weekend work required. 35 hour work week. 1. Bachelor's Degree in related field 2. Minimum of 5 years of progressive financial management experience, nonprofit financial management experience a plus 3. Experience with cost allocation methodologies across multiple funding sources 4. Excellent judgment, discretion, and integrity in handling sensitive financial and personnel information. 5. Ability to work with minimal supervisionKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Management Lead annual budget development and ongoing budget monitoring across all programs and funding sources, in partnership with the CEO and program managers. Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger management. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and present them to the CEO and Board. Manage cash flow and reserves, providing early visibility into funding gaps or risks as funding permits. Develop and maintain internal controls and financial policies to safeguard organizational assets. Grants & Contracts Build and maintain budgets for grant proposals and contract renewals, working closely with the CEO Track grant spending against budget and prepare financial reports required by funders and government contracts. Support cost allocation methodology across programs, including proportional payroll allocation. Operations Oversee facilities, vendor contracts, and insurance coverage, ensuring the organization operates efficiently and within budget. Assist CEO with benefits administration, compensation planning, and compliance-related policy development.
