Role Overview The Director, Operations is responsible for the day-to-day management and improvement of the organization's inventory reporting, operational analytics, and related processes. This role partners closely with Operations, Finance, and Business Intelligence to improve inventory visibility and performance, strengthen reporting and data quality, streamline workflows, and implement practical automation and AI-enabled solutions. The Director is expected to develop strong knowledge of the organization's business and systems, translate business needs into effective solutions, and provide day-to-day coordination and technical guidance to the Operations support team. The role will help increase operational capacity, standardize and simplify core processes, reduce manual work, and improve how information is used to run the business. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Manage and improve financial and operational reporting for inventory positions: Prepare, maintain, and monitor inventory cash flow, roll-forward analyses, aging, and related reporting for monthly operating reviews. Monitor inventory levels, aging, utilization, and risk indicators; identify exceptions, trends, and opportunities to improve inventory performance. Partner with Finance on monthly reconciliations, variance analysis, and year-end audit support, ensuring information is accurate, timely, and well documented. Maintain and improve the operational and financial reporting framework supporting the organization's inventory portfolio: Translate operational and financial needs into clear reporting requirements for the Business Intelligence team, including dashboards, analytical tools, scorecards, and forecasting support. Provide subject-matter expertise on operational processes, systems, and initiatives designed to improve inventory utilization, reporting quality, and workflow effectiveness. Improve reporting, data quality, and workflow visibility to support management decision-making: Collaborate with Business Intelligence to maintain consistent, standardized dashboards and reporting solutions, including defining data needs, validating outputs, and supporting ongoing enhancements. Analyze historical results, current performance, and emerging trends to identify exceptions, root causes, and opportunities for improved operational and financial performance. Prepare clear financial analyses, operational metrics, and concise recommendations for senior leadership to support timely decision-making. Develop and maintain reliable processes for populating and updating master data and operational tables; identify opportunities to reduce manual work through workflow automation, AI-assisted tools, and improved system functionality. Develop strong working knowledge of the organization's business processes, operating requirements, financial models, and system capabilities: Serve as a trusted resource for operational questions, process changes, and business initiatives. Gather and document business requirements, evaluate practical solution options, assess impacts and risks, and recommend improvements that align with business needs and established processes. Work with stakeholders to understand operational challenges, improve processes, eliminate unnecessary steps, and implement practical opportunities for efficiency, automation, and standardization. Identify repetitive or manual activities that can be simplified through workflow automation, AI-assisted tools, improved data processes, or system enhancements. Support the evaluation, testing, implementation, and adoption of AI and automation solutions, with appropriate attention to accuracy, controls, and user adoption. Track and communicate measurable improvements in efficiency, accuracy, turnaround time, and operational capacity resulting from process and technology improvements. Leadership Responsibilities Provide day-to-day work coordination, coaching, technical guidance, and problem-solving support to Operations support staff. Partner with senior Operations leadership to establish priorities, monitor performance, resolve issues, and execute operational improvements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree with a Finance focus, or equivalent experience, required. Seven or more years of progressively responsible experience in financial analysis, operations, business intelligence, or a related field. Strong understanding of cash flow management, reconciliations, inventory accounting, and operational reporting. Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations. Detail-oriented, with strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong project-management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deliverables, and process improvements simultaneously. Ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and provide a high level of internal customer service. Ability to build effective relationships with employees and stakeholders at all levels of an organization. Ability to manage confidential information reliably and appropriately. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with the ability to learn and use modern analytics, automation, and AI-enabled business tools. Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar reporting and analytics tools preferred. Experience using AI or workflow-automation tools is a plus. Pay:
$120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
