Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Director, Legal Operations is responsible for leading the day-to-day operation of CAM's Legal Operations organization, ensuring operational excellence, quality, regulatory compliance, productivity, and service delivery. This position provides operational leadership for Affidavit Operations and is responsible for translating strategic initiatives into daily execution while developing leaders, improving operational performance, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. The Director partners closely with the Vice President of Legal Operations to execute the department's strategic roadmap while ensuring production objectives, service levels, quality standards, and operational metrics are consistently achieved.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Leadership Lead the day-to-day operation of Legal Operations, ensuring work is completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with established service levels. Oversee Affidavit Operations, including production, execution, quality, and operational performance. Ensure staffing, workload balancing, and resource allocation effectively support business demands. Establish operational priorities while maintaining business continuity during periods of change. Monitor production volumes, cycle times, backlog, and operational performance. Leadership & People Development Lead and develop Managers, Team Leads, and support staff. Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback that develops future leaders. Establish clear performance expectations and accountability throughout the organization. Support succession planning and talent development. Foster a culture built on collaboration, ownership, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Operational Execution Execute departmental strategy established by the Vice President of Legal Operations. Ensure operational readiness for new business initiatives and regulatory changes. Monitor adherence to departmental procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Lead operational meetings and performance reviews. Manage escalations requiring operational leadership. Performance Management Establish and monitor operational KPIs. Review productivity, quality, turnaround time, and service level performance. Utilize operational reporting to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities. Drive accountability through regular performance reviews and coaching. Ensure corrective actions are implemented when performance expectations are not met. Process Improvement Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency and operational effectiveness. Partner with Technology, Analytics, Legal, and Compliance to implement operational improvements. Support automation initiatives and workflow redesign. Recommend process enhancements that improve quality, efficiency, and scalability. Participate in implementation of strategic initiatives impacting Legal Operations.
Cross-Functional Partnership Collaborate with:
Legal Compliance Technology Analytics Media Operations Vendor Management Collection Vendor Support to ensure operational alignment across business initiatives. Governance & Compliance Ensure compliance with all federal, state, client, and company requirements. Monitor operational risk. Support internal and external audits. Maintain documentation standards supporting litigation readiness. Ensure operational controls are consistently followed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations Management, Legal Studies, or related discipline preferred (or equivalent experience). Minimum 7-10 years of experience within collections, debt purchasing, legal operations, litigation support, or related operational environment. Minimum three years leading operational teams. Demonstrated experience leading multiple leaders and frontline staff. Experience managing operational performance through metrics and reporting. Strong knowledge of legal operations, affidavits, litigation support, or comparable operational processes preferred.
