Director of Fabrication Operations
  • Industrial & Commercial
  • Seattle, WA (Hybrid / Remote) Gryphon Oakwood are currently working on a Director of Fabrication Systems & Operations for a leading mechanical contractor in the North West.
This candidate will be responsible for improving the performance of the fabrication business through stronger systems, better coordination, and more efficient material flow. Working closely with the current VP, this person will initially act as a key operational partner before taking on broader leadership responsibility over time. The role will focus on identifying bottlenecks, simplifying processes, and improving efficiency across multiple fabrication facilities. The ideal candidate will bring a strong manufacturing or production mindset, analytical capability, and a practical approach to driving operational improvement. Core Responsibilities Improve fabrication systems, workflows, and operational efficiency Strengthen raw material flow, staging, and readiness Implement incoming material quality control processes Reduce downtime and improve production flow Assess automation and technology opportunities Improve coordination across multiple shop functions and locations Support leadership transition and long-term organizational development Qualifications 10+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, fabrication, production, or industrial operations Proven track record improving systems, material flow, and productivity Experience managing complex operations across multiple teams or facilities Exposure to automated equipment, CNC, or production technology preferred Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Practical, credible, and hands-on leadership style What Success Looks Like Materials arrive ready for production with fewer disruptions Shop workflows are simpler, smoother, and more predictable Non-productive time is reduced Existing labor and equipment produce greater output Operations rely less on reactive decisions and workarounds Leadership transition is completed successfully If this role is of interest and matches your background please reach out to Edward Davey (edward.davey@gryphonoakwood.com)
