Job Description
Field Operations Manager About Us Graycon Concrete is a fast-growing concrete contractor serving the Kansas City metro. We specialize in residential and commercial flatwork, foundations, driveways, sidewalks, and large-scale production concrete work. We are building a company focused on professionalism, communication, production efficiency, and quality workmanship — and we are looking for someone who can help lead operations in the field. Position Overview We are looking for a highly organized, motivated leader to help manage day-to-day field operations and subcontractor coordination. This person will work directly with ownership, subcontractors, suppliers, and crews to ensure projects stay organized, productive, clean, and on schedule. This is NOT a desk-only position.
You will be in the field daily checking jobs, planning upcoming work, solving problems, and helping crews succeed. Responsibilities Coordinate daily activities with subcontractor crews Verify layouts, forms, elevations, and plan details are being followed correctly Ensure crews maintain clean, professional job sites Visit active jobs daily to monitor progress and quality Scope future projects before crews arrive Ensure materials, equipment, and access are ready ahead of schedule Coordinate concrete, rock, rebar, pumps, inspections, and deliveries Help plan weekly schedules and upcoming pours Communicate with builders, project managers, and suppliers Identify potential problems before they become delays Ensure crews have what they need to stay productive Monitor driveway, sidewalk, slab, and footing operations Take photos/documentation of projects as needed Help maintain Graycon's reputation for quality and professionalism Ideal Candidate Experience in concrete construction, grading, utilities, or site work Ability to read plans and understand elevations/layout Strong communication and leadership skills Highly organized and proactive Able to manage multiple crews and projects at once Problem solver with a sense of urgency Comfortable working in the field daily Spanish communication is a plus Experience managing subcontractors is preferred What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience Company truck or vehicle allowance (depending on role) Growth opportunity with a rapidly expanding company Leadership role with direct impact on company operations Opportunity to help build systems and processes from the ground up
