POSITION SUMMARY
The Field Quality and Technical Operations Lead is a field-based role responsible for strengthening execution across all apiary operations. This position focuses on building trust with team members, while standardizing and improving field practices, ultimately ensuring company policies are applied consistently and effectively in all locations (CA, FL, TX, MT, ND, SD). The Field Quality and Technical Operations Lead uses data and insights to design Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that improve overall alignment and field execution. This position also serves as primary point of contact for external grower partnerships, including pollination contract communication, coordination of inspections and hive placements, etc.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Partner with apiary managers and beekeepers to establish field operations best practices through hands-on training and predictable follow up Develop SOPs in collaboration with field operations and drive consistent adoption of established procedures, tools and/or software Validate field observations through data-analysis and actionable insights Implement hive-level KPIs that drive performance monitoring and informed decision-making Establish hive health evaluations that standardize inspection methods, documentation, and corrective actions across locations Communicate consistently with field teams to prioritize accurate data collection that reflects field conditions Monitor location conditions (accessibility, vegetation control, pest pressure etc.) and make recommendations that improve operational efficiencies Identify procedural risk across locations and create clear intervention plans that proactively address vulnerabilities Communicate with growers consistently to ensure correct execution of pollination contracts and a high level of customer satisfaction Other duties as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of experience in a similar role in agriculture, biology, or related field required Experience with hands-on beekeeping, hive management and colony health required Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, etc.) required; experience with Nectar or similar software preferred Experience establishing systems and processes that support continuous operational improvement and KPIs required; experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) preferred Able to build trust, coach and influence teams, while effectively collaborating cross-functionally and fostering a culture of ownership and accountability Able to identify gaps between intended procedures and field execution, creating improvement plans that align teams across regions Able to adapt to changing priorities and operational needs while maintaining clear communication with teams Able to travel overnight as needed (40 - 50%)
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
