at Basic American Foods in Walnut Creek, California, United States Job Description National Account Manager, Strategic Chain Accounts - fully remote We are seeking a results-driven National Account Manager to drive new business growth within the restaurant chain industry. This is a highly focused business development role responsible for identifying and prospecting target accounts, building a strong pipeline, developing winning account strategies, and converting opportunities into long-term customer relationships. The ideal candidate is a proactive sales hunter with a proven ability to open doors, engage key decision-makers, negotiate effectively, and close complex deals. Success in this role requires strong relationship-management skills, a consistent track record of generating new revenue, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve volume, revenue, and profitability targets. Cultivate new customer opportunities to expand our product portfolio. Monitor account performance and provide regular updates on key metrics, forecasts, and market trends. Communicate customer needs internally to evaluate profitability, operational capability, and capacity. Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and operations teams to develop and deliver solutions that meet customer requirements and drive business growth. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders at assigned accounts through collaboration, networking, participation in industry associations and trade shows, and regular sales engagement. Conduct periodic business reviews with customers to ensure satisfaction, evaluate performance, and identify opportunities for growth and expansion Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements with key decision-makers. Develop and implement strategies that drive business growth while ensuring sustainable and profitable long-term partnerships. When necessary, work with the Field sales managers in planning and implementing an effective pull-through program.
