Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and people-centered Operations Manager to work with a boutique family-owned construction and remodeling company in San Diego. This key role will work directly with the company's owner and will be responsible for sales & estimating, project scheduling & coordination, client communication and daily problem solving. The ideal candidate has the unique ability to build rapport with just about anyone, enjoys delivering quality customer service, presents themselves professionally and can swiftly diffuse conflict. Additionally, the ideal candidate thrives on over-communication and can juggle many moving parts, many timelines, competing priorities, and works with a multitude of stakeholders to find win-win-win situations.
Duties & Responsibilities Sales & Estimating:
Follow up with every lead in an appropriate manner that reflects the level and attention of the specific job (e.g. phone call, email correspondence, on site visit, etc.) Prepare and present detailed estimates/proposals for remodels. Scheduling & Coordination Build and maintain the master schedule across all active jobs Coordinate trade sequencing with the on-site superintendent, subcontractors and cabinet installers. Order and track material as required per job. Client Communication & Expectation Management Communicate with all relevant stakeholders (e.g. client/homeowner, subcontractors, internal team, etc.) throughout project to ensure projects stay on schedule and on budget Set realistic timelines, budgets and expectations up front, and manage change orders as scope changes arise. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients from contract signing through project completion. Ensure customer satisfaction reflects our company's reputation and online reviews Problem Solving Provide daily problem resolution and crisis management in partnership with the superintendent. Provide proactive communication (with all parties), to manage and resolve issues on each job that impact schedule, budget, etc. Maintain a list of on-going problems/issues that need to be addressed on each project and ensure each is resolved through proactive communication and collaboration with superintendent, subs, and other related parties. Experience/Qualifications At least 5 years of residential construction, remodeling, project management or closely related experience. Ability to make decisions quickly and with the understanding of its implications Experience managing high end kitchen and/or bathroom remodels Strong people skills and emotional intelligence High-communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to manage hundreds of details without losing sight of the larger project Has the ability to juggle many moving parts, many timelines, competing priorities, and bring order to chaos. $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
