Job Description

We are seeking a relationship-driven, strategically minded Account Manager to join the Hedges & Company team, who can own a portfolio of client accounts end to end; building trusted partnerships, shaping marketing strategy, identifying opportunities to grow each account, and keeping every project on track from kickoff through delivery. This is not a "task coordinator" role. Our Account Managers are strategic partners to their clients, responsible for account health and growth, connecting client business goals to our Paid Media, SEO, and data work, and serving as the constant thread between client strategy, campaign execution, and business results.
The ideal Account Manager is:
A relationship builder, earning trust with clients through transparency, responsiveness, and consistent follow-through. Strategic, able to understand a client's business, market, and goals, and connect them to the right marketing initiatives. Growth-minded, skilled at spotting opportunities to expand accounts and confident presenting new services and ideas. Proactive, not reactive, always one step ahead on client needs, project status, and potential risks. A strong communicator, clear, structured, and confident with clients and internal teams. Digitally fluent, comfortable discussing high level, Paid Media, SEO, and analytics, and translating performance data, and converting it into plain business language. Accountable and organized, committed to keeping projects, budgets, and deliverables on schedule and on scope. Key Responsibilities Client Relationships & Strategic Leadership Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for a portfolio of automotive industry clients. Develop a deep understanding of each client's business, products, competitive landscape, and growth objectives. Lead strategic planning conversations, translating client goals into clear marketing roadmaps across Paid Media, SEO, and data services. "Read the room" and navigate a range of client environments, from founder-led brands to large manufacturers, with professionalism, clarity, and confidence. Manage escalations calmly and ensure alignment between client stakeholders and internal teams. Account Growth & Retention Own the health, retention, and profitability of assigned accounts. Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities, expanding clients into additional Paid Media, SEO, and data services that fit their goals. Build and present growth recommendations, proposals, and renewal plans in partnership with leadership and subject-matter experts. Monitor account performance and satisfaction, spotting risks to retention early and acting on them. Marketing Strategy & Performance Collaborate with Paid Media, SEO, and data teams to ensure work aligns with client objectives. Translate campaign results and analytics into clear, client-facing insights and recommendations. Stay current on digital marketing trends and the automotive aftermarket and OEM landscape to bring informed perspective to clients. Project & Delivery Oversight Keep the trains on the tracks, oversee timelines, deliverables, and milestones across each account's active projects. Drive momentum through proactive planning, risk identification, and timely decision-making. Monitor budgets and scope, flagging risks early and providing transparency and corrective plans. Communication & Reporting Create a structured communication cadence, regular status updates, performance reporting, and business reviews. Facilitate client and internal meetings, document decisions, assumptions, next steps, and risks. Foster a culture of transparency, follow-through, and proactive communication across account teams. Qualifications Required 3-6+ years of account management or client services experience in a digital marketing agency, consulting environment, or similar. Working knowledge of digital marketing channels, including paid search/paid media, SEO, and analytics. Demonstrated success growing accounts through upselling, cross-selling, or renewals. Strong communication, facilitation, presentation, and client management skills. Experience managing project timelines, budgets, and scope across multiple accounts simultaneously. Ability to interpret campaign data and communicate performance in business terms. Preferred Experience in or knowledge of the automotive industry (aftermarket parts and accessories, OEM, or dealerships). Agency background managing retainer-based client relationships. Familiarity with tools such as Google Ads, Google Analytics, Merchant Center, and SEO platforms. Experience with enterprise or multi-stakeholder accounts.
