This is a hands-on leadership position overseeing a team of approximately 3-4 Lawn Care Technicians . You'll be the person who gets the operation moving each morning—making sure the team, trucks, equipment, and materials are ready to go—and you'll continue supporting the technicians throughout the day to keep production running safely and efficiently. We're looking for someone who leads by example, holds themselves and others accountable, and genuinely cares about both their team and their customers. Lawn care experience is helpful, but it isn't everything. We're especially interested in finding someone with the right leadership mindset, strong organizational skills, and the drive to learn and grow with Gro-Masters. What You'll Do Lead & Develop Your Team Directly lead, coach, and support a team of 3-4 Lawn Care Technicians. Set clear expectations for productivity, quality, safety, and customer service. Train technicians on proper procedures, equipment use, applications, and safety practices. Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and accountability. Help create a positive, team-oriented culture where employees feel supported and are expected to perform. Lead by example and be willing to step in wherever the team needs you. Responsibilities include:
Ensure technicians, trucks, equipment, and materials are ready before dispatch. Coordinate daily production and technician workloads. Monitor technician productivity and help keep routes and production on track. Oversee chemical inventory, mixing, filling, and proper material handling. Maintain appropriate inventory levels and help prevent unnecessary waste. Monitor service quality and address production or customer concerns as they arise. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, processes, and overall branch performance. Safety, Vehicles & Equipment Make safety a priority in all daily operations. Reinforce safe driving, chemical handling, equipment operation, and jobsite practices. Help identify maintenance or equipment issues before they result in unnecessary downtime. Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient shop and production environment. Customer Service & Growth This is not primarily a sales position , but every member of our team plays a role in taking care of our customers. You'll help ensure technicians provide professional, responsive service and communicate effectively with customers. When you identify an additional service that could benefit a customer's property, you'll also have the opportunity to recommend and upsell those services. Who We're Looking For The right person for this position is a leader first . You may already have lawn care or turf management experience, or you may bring strong operational leadership experience from a related service industry. Either way, we're looking for someone who is ready to take ownership of the operation and the success of their team.
Our ideal candidate is:
A servant leader who isn't afraid to jump in and help the team. Culture-driven and committed to creating a positive work environment. Organized and able to keep people, equipment, materials, and priorities moving. Accountable and comfortable holding others accountable. Empathetic while still maintaining high performance standards. Focused on both the technician and customer experience. Safety-minded and detail-oriented. A strong communicator and problem solver. Able to remain calm and make good decisions when the day doesn't go according to plan. Motivated to learn, improve, and grow professionally. Experience & Qualifications Previous leadership, supervisory, or operations experience strongly preferred. Lawn care, turf care, landscaping, pest control, or similar service-industry experience is a plus, but not required for the right leader .
