Operations Superintendent Location:
Wando, South Carolina The Position:
Provides leadership, coaching, resources, and direction to ensure the safe, compliant, reliable, and optimized operation of their assigned process unit. Partnering with the Operations Manager, oversees daily plant operations, develops team capability, drives continuous improvement, and ensures achievement of performance, operational, and regulatory objectives.
What you will do:
This position - and all positions - within the INEOS Aromatics organization requires that the incumbent commit to learning, following, and practicing the INEOS Aromatics 20 Principles of Process and Behavioral Safety as applicable to the position. Each employee must also commit to following the INEOS Aromatics Life-Saving rules and the site SHE Policies and Procedures including Stop Work Authority and Safe Work Guidelines on a daily basis. Lead and promote a strong safety culture by driving compliance with behavioral and process safety standards, conducting safety audits, participating in incident investigations, and ensuring corrective actions are completed. Provide leadership and direction to the Unit Manufacturing Team (UMT), establishing priorities, achieving operational goals, and fostering a high-performing, collaborative work environment. Coach, develop, and evaluate team members through performance management, training, succession planning, and individual development plans to build organizational capability. Oversee day-to-day unit operations, including production performance, maintenance coordination, outage management, staffing, troubleshooting, and operational decision-making to ensure safe and reliable plant performance. Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and cross-functional teams to prioritize work, resolve operational issues, support turnaround (TAR) activities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Monitor unit performance, budgets, and key operational metrics, providing regular updates to manufacturing leadership while ensuring accountability for team goals and business objectives. Serve as a key site operations representative by participating in major incident investigations, emergency response teams, risk assessments, and site leadership initiatives to support overall plant reliability and operational excellence.
What you will bring:
High School diploma or equivalent and Minimum 7 years Operations experience.
Experience in general:
Petrochemical or refining plant experience Operations Leadership experience (i.e. Maintenance Coordinator, Team Leader, Night Superintendent/Shift Manager, Shift Supervisor, Foreman, etc.)
ERT / IMT
Qualified (willingness to join IMT if not already assigned.
Physical Demands:
The ability to routinely climb stairs & ladders that can exceed 200 feet in total span with break decks The ability to put on respirators and other important safety equipment Working outside 30% of time in temperature extremes and noisy environments
