Director of Research Operations; OPCVM Department CVM Research OPFL Position Category Staff Full Time Job Description The Director of Research will oversee and enhance the research program by assisting OPCVM faculty as they engage in the research process. The Director of Research works to improve research opportunities, funding and working conditions at
LMU-OPCVM.
The Director of Research is responsible for creating and maintaining the strategic plan for
LMU-OPCVM
research collaborating with the Associate Dean of Research and Basic Sciences, LMU-OPCVM administration, and department chairs Required Qualifications Masters degree in related field Minimum 2 years relevant experience in research development Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of university program goals and objectives Familiarity with veterinary medical field Physical Demands Campus Orange Park Florida Job Duty Job Duty Collects and collates data regarding faculty and staff research for the College Job Duty Manages OPCVM research lab initiatives: Orders supplies, maintains inventory and stock levels of supplies necessary for lab activities. Assists with troubleshooting efforts Job Duty Provides training, technical expertise, and assistance to the graduate and DVM students in the performance of duties related to their assigned projects in addition to their own projects. Job Duty Maintains proper records including copies of all documentation for research projects Job Duty Follows SOPs and guidance of the principal investigator (PI) Job Duty Works collaboratively with faculty members within the OPCVM research initiatives Job Duty Initiates intramural grant process and reports concise data to appropriate parties for review Job Duty Maintains accurate records regarding OPCVM intramural grants including budget spreadsheets Job Duty Supervises OPCVM intramural grant review process and tracks budget for grant recipients throughout project period Job Duty Coordinates with faculty and students regarding OPCVM sponsored student research assistants and scholars Job Duty Plans and executes research events such as Research Day Job Duty Maintains budget spreadsheets for Office of Research Job Duty Maintains privacy and confidentiality. Job Duty Supervises administrative assistants, work-study students, or any individuals assigned by supervisor. Job Duty Hold faculty development sessions based on the needs of the faculty Job Duty Keep a comprehensive record of research and grant activities for
