Operations Position Summary Unicorn Tire Corp. is seeking an experienced Director of Warehouse Operations to provide strategic and operational leadership across our warehouse and distribution operations, with primary responsibility for our Memphis, Tennessee and Houston, Texas locations . The ideal candidate will have significant leadership experience within the tire industry and a strong background in warehouse operations, distribution, inventory management, logistics, safety, and process improvement. This position will be responsible for ensuring warehouse operations are safe, efficient, organized, cost-effective, and aligned with company goals. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring the ability to oversee multiple locations, develop warehouse leaders, establish consistent operational standards, and drive accountability and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and oversight for warehouse operations in Memphis and Houston. Develop and implement warehouse procedures, operational standards, and best practices across locations. Lead Warehouse Managers, supervisors, leads, and warehouse teams to achieve operational goals. Oversee receiving, put-away, inventory storage, order fulfillment, picking, loading, shipping, and distribution activities. Ensure accurate inventory management, product placement, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliation. Establish and monitor warehouse KPIs related to productivity, inventory accuracy, order accuracy, labor utilization, safety, damages, and shipping performance. Evaluate warehouse staffing levels, workflow, scheduling, and labor requirements based on operational needs. Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs. Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and warehouse equipment procedures. Partner with Sales, E-Commerce, Accounting, HR, Logistics, and senior leadership to resolve operational issues and support company objectives. Oversee warehouse equipment, forklifts, racking, loading areas, docks, and other operational resources. Develop and coach warehouse leadership teams while establishing clear expectations and accountability. Support hiring, training, performance management, and workforce development initiatives. Assist with warehouse budgeting, labor planning, operational expenses, and cost-control initiatives. Conduct regular warehouse inspections and operational reviews. Support expansion, facility improvements, warehouse layout optimization, and other strategic operational projects. Travel between company locations as operational needs require. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business, or a closely related field required. Tire industry experience is required. Significant warehouse, distribution, or supply chain operations experience, including leadership responsibility. Experience managing multiple warehouse locations or large-scale distribution operations strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of tire warehousing, inventory management, receiving, shipping, order fulfillment, and distribution processes. Demonstrated experience leading warehouse managers, supervisors, and operational teams. Strong understanding of warehouse safety practices and OSHA requirements. Experience developing and monitoring operational KPIs and performance standards. Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to identify operational challenges and implement practical solutions. Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and levels of the organization. Proficiency with warehouse management systems, inventory systems, Microsoft Office, and related business technology. Ability and willingness to travel between company locations as required. Preferred Qualifications Experience working for a tire distributor, tire wholesaler, tire manufacturer, or similar automotive distribution organization. Experience overseeing high-volume warehouse or distribution operations. Experience implementing warehouse process improvements, inventory controls, and productivity programs. Experience with multi-site operational leadership and warehouse expansion initiatives. The Director of Warehouse Operations must be able to develop people, create structure, improve processes, maintain inventory accuracy, enforce safety standards, and hold teams accountable for results . The successful candidate will be comfortable working both strategically with senior leadership and directly with warehouse teams to ensure operational expectations are consistently executed across locations. Tire industry experience is required for consideration.
