Job Description

Interstate Warehousing, Inc., the 4th largest refrigerated warehousing company in the nation is seeking a Manager-in-Training with outstanding work ethic interested in learning all aspects of warehousing. The MIT will be able to perform all warehouse duties including but not limited to: picking, stocking, inbound/outbound running, all receiving, loading, and shipping functions, and any other duties related to material handling. Upon demonstrating proficiency in each task, the MIT will then be cross-trained in other departments and will eventually be trained and prepared to run a shift on his or her own. The MIT training program is a compilation of both warehouse duties and shift supervisor responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL ABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING
Aiding in monitoring employee productivity Assigning responsibility for specified work and/or functional activities within the framework set by management Giving work directions, and monitoring scheduling for adequate shift coverage Monitors and observes the day-to-day activities of subordinates, coordinates breaks for hourly associates, and keeps management informed of area activities and any significant problems Completes daily procedures/checklists in accordance with company policies/procedures Coordinates with shift members for on-the-job training of new employees and seeks to develop and train staff on systems, practices and equipment Practices excellent food safety/defense practices and complies with food safety and food defense requirements as outlined by best practices Monitors compliance of best practice guidelines and safety program and works to build awareness around company programs and reports any issues contrary to program guidelines to senior management. Assists in management of customer inventories to include hold release process May assist as a Backup Facility Practitioner Each position offers high visibility and attention to your career but requires each promotion to be earned by working one's way up.
