GENERAL PURPOSE
The School Operations Lead is the operational backbone of the school. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing all non-instructional systems, processes, and logistics. By ensuring that the school's daily operations run seamlessly, efficiently, and safely, the Operations Lead enables the instructional staff and school leadership to focus entirely on student learning and achievement.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities
Daily Logistics & Facilities Management
Oversee morning arrival, afternoon dismissal, lunch periods, and transition logistics to ensure a safe, orderly environment.
Manage the school facility, coordinating with maintenance, custodial staff, and external vendors to ensure the building is clean, safe, and fully operational.
Lead school safety protocols, including organizing emergency drills (fire, weather, lockdown), maintaining the emergency response plan, and auditing security systems.
Manage asset inventory, including the procurement and distribution of tech devices, textbooks, furniture, and office supplies.
Vendor & Contract Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for external service providers, including food services, student transportation/busing, IT support, and cleaning crews.
Monitor vendor performance, hold partners accountable to contract terms, and resolve service issues promptly.
Student Information & Compliance
Oversee the School Information System (SIS) to ensure accurate tracking of student attendance, enrollment, scheduling, and grading metrics.
Manage the student recruitment and enrollment lifecycle, from tracking applications to executing registration events.
Ensure strict compliance with local, state, and federal education regulations, leading the preparation for operational audits and reporting.
Event Planning & Office Administration
Plan and execute logistics for school-wide events, such as orientation, field trips, parent-teacher conferences, and graduation ceremonies.
Supervise the front office staff to maintain an welcoming, professional, and highly efficient reception area for families and visitors.
Coordinate internal communication channels, ensuring staff and families receive timely updates on schedules, logistics, and operational changes.
Financial & HR Support
Assist school leadership with budget management, tracking operational expenses, processing purchase orders, and handling petty cash.
Support onboarding logistics for new staff members, including securing keys, badges, technology access, and operational training.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
High School Diploma or GED.
Experience:
2-4 years of experience in operations, logistics, project management, or office administration. Experience working within a school, charter network, or non-profit environment is highly preferred.
Systems Thinking:
Exceptional organizational skills with a proven ability to build, scale, and manage complex logistical systems.
Communication:
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills; ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders, including students, parents, staff, and vendors.
Problem-Solving:
Resourceful and adaptable; thrives in a fast-paced environment and can handle unexpected logistical challenges calmly and effectively.
Tech Savviness:
Proficiency with Google Workspace/Microsoft Office and experience using (or quickly learning) School Information Systems (SIS).
Working Conditions
Requires working on-site at the school campus during standard school operational hours.
May require occasional evening or weekend hours to support school events.
Must be able to move around the school building frequently to supervise logistics, monitor facilities, and support staff.
Long periods of standing or being mobile.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
