Overview Nuvara develops hardware and software solutions that optimize how medications and supplies are secured, stored, transported, and managed in healthcare environments. We are seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to lead Nuvara's day-to-day operational activities and help keep a growing healthcare-technology business running effectively. This is a broad, cross-functional role with responsibility across purchasing and supplier management, inventory and warehouse operations, assembly and production support, shipping and receiving, customer coordination, engineering support, facilities, IT, and project management. The Operations Manager will work closely with Engineering, Sales, Quality, Accounting, suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders to keep commitments on track, identify risks early, remove obstacles, and drive work through completion. This position is best suited for someone who enjoys working in a small-company environment where responsibilities are broad, priorities move quickly, and managers are expected to both lead the work and get involved in the work. Responsibilities Operations Lead day-to-day operations across purchasing, receiving, shipping, incoming inspection, nonconforming material, inventory and warehouse management, assembly, refurbishment, prototyping, product testing, and inspection. Submit RFQs, evaluate and coordinate supplier responses, create purchase orders, and actively manage supplier commitments and delivery dates. Proactively identify supplier, material, schedule, and operational risks and communicate them to the appropriate stakeholders. Coordinate among suppliers, Operations, Engineering, Product, Sales, customers, and other stakeholders regarding purchasing, availability, schedules, and delivery requirements. Maintain accurate operational transactions and records within ERP, project-management, quality, and other business systems. Develop and monitor operational KPIs, including supplier quality and operational performance. Manage inventory, warehouse activities, facilities, equipment maintenance and calibration, and operational supplies. Manage the company's IT systems and external IT service partner, including user support, access, system availability, cybersecurity coordination, and issue resolution. Lead cross-functional projects by defining priorities, timelines, responsibilities, deliverables, risks, and follow-up actions. Ensure operational activities are performed in accordance with applicable company, quality-system, safety, and regulatory requirements. Engineering & New Product Support Support new product development and introduction activities. Build and coordinate in-house prototypes. Identify and manage fabrication and prototype suppliers. Purchase materials and components required for prototypes. Collaborate with Engineering to improve product manufacturability. Lead operational aspects of Design Transfer, including supplier identification and qualification, manufacturing documentation, inspection criteria, assembly records, production test fixtures, and production readiness. Work with suppliers to improve manufacturing processes and product assembly. Customer Support & Order Coordination Process customer orders from quotation through invoicing, including quotes, sales orders, acknowledgements, fulfillment records, and related documentation. Coordinate customer shipments, delivery logistics, product availability, and customer-specific requirements. Provide customers with accurate status updates and escalate issues that could affect commitments. Serve as a primary administrative point of contact for routine customer needs. Coordinate and lead field-service activities as needed. Track customer requests and follow-up actions through completion. Manage customer feedback and return material authorization (RMA) processes. Support customer onboarding, project coordination, and post-delivery follow-up. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, quality, operations, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered. 2+ years of experience leading business operations, warehouse operations, or a comparable cross-functional function. At least 1 year of experience addressing manufacturing or supply-chain challenges in a time-sensitive, customer-driven environment. Strong planning and leadership skills with the ability to establish priorities, coordinate resources, and drive work to completion. Excellent organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail and timely follow-up. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft 365. Ability to work on-site during scheduled working hours. Preferred Qualifications Experience with manufacturing, supply chain, Lean, or regulated operations. Experience in healthcare technology, medical devices, or another regulated manufacturing environment. Experience coordinating RFQs, purchase orders, supplier follow-up, shipping, and logistics. Experience with ERP and electronic quality-management systems (eQMS). Experience defining KPIs, dashboards, and operational reporting. Familiarity with AI-enabled tools, workflow automation, and other technologies used to improve business processes. Experience supporting new product introduction, prototypes, or design-to-manufacturing transfer. Strong meeting facilitation, presentation, and cross-functional communication skills. Additional Requirements This is an on-site position working at across office, engineering-lab, warehouse, and light-manufacturing environments. There may be occasional business travel. The position may occasionally require lifting or moving products, packages, documents, or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. The Operations Manager is responsible for supervising operational staff and may also lead cross-functional teams, meetings, and projects through coordination and influence without direct reporting authority.
Pay:
$85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
