Full Job Description Position Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to lead a growing third-party logistics (3PL) e-commerce fulfillment operation. This leader will drive daily warehouse performance, develop front-line leaders, ensure excellent client service, and use data to improve safety, accuracy, productivity, and cost. Candidates with a proven record of success in a client-facing 3PL environment—combined with strong leadership, fulfillment, systems, and KPI-management experience—will receive priority consideration. This is a highly visible role. The Operations Manager will communicate regularly with clients and executive leadership, so strong communication skills, professionalism, sound judgment, and emotional intelligence are essential. Direct 3PL experience is strongly preferred and will be prioritized. What You'll Do Lead daily warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory control, picking, packing, shipping, returns, and value-added services. Manage, coach, and develop warehouse supervisors, coordinators, and team leads. Build daily labor and operating plans based on order volume, inbound schedules, client priorities, carrier deadlines, and staffing needs. Deliver on client service commitments, including on-time shipping, order accuracy, inventory accuracy, and turnaround times. Communicate directly with clients and executive leadership on performance, volume changes, launches, service needs, escalations, and improvement opportunities. Track and improve KPIs such as picks per hour, order accuracy, labor productivity, inventory control, safety, and cost performance. Use WMS data, dashboards, and reporting tools to identify issues, lead root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable improvements. Lead safety, training, performance management, and continuous-improvement efforts across the operation. Support operational growth, peak-volume planning, new customer onboarding, and process changes. What You'll Bring 5+ years of warehouse, fulfillment, distribution, or 3PL operations experience; direct 3PL experience will be prioritized. 3+ years leading supervisors, leads, coordinators, or multi-functional warehouse teams. Demonstrated success in a client-facing environment, balancing service requirements, operational execution, labor, quality, safety, and cost. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate credibly and effectively with warehouse teams, clients, and executive leadership. High emotional intelligence, professionalism, relationship-building skills, and the ability to navigate competing priorities, sensitive conversations, and escalations with sound judgment. Experience supporting high-volume e-commerce fulfillment operations. Working knowledge of WMS, inventory-control practices, RF/barcode scanning, shipping systems, and operational reporting. Ability to manage performance through KPIs, including labor productivity, service, quality, inventory, safety, and cost. Strong organization, decision-making, coaching, and problem-solving skills. Flexibility to support a seven-day operation, including weekends, holidays, and additional hours during peak periods. Preferred Qualifications Bilingual communication skills. Experience with Tableau or similar KPI dashboard/reporting tools. Experience with TMS, ERP, automation, client implementations, or process integrations. Experience with Lean/Six Sigma frameworks and analytical thinking, OSHA/safety, APICS. Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, operations, business, or a related field.
