The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable working independently, responsive to changing field conditions, and willing to work outside of a traditional Monday-Friday schedule when operations require it. This is a hands-on operational position . The Permian Basin Field Operations Manager will spend significant time working with equipment, traveling to field locations, supporting rig-ups and rig-downs, and maintaining the Midland facility. Responsibilities Prepare mudlogging units, instrumentation, tools, computers, and supporting equipment for deployment Verify units are properly stocked, functional, clean, and field-ready before dispatch Deliver logging units, equipment, supplies, and replacement components to drilling locations throughout the Permian Basin Retrieve units and equipment following job completion Assist field personnel with rig-up, rig-down, equipment installation, troubleshooting, and operational support when needed Inspect units immediately upon return from the field and identify maintenance, repair, cleaning, or equipment replacement needs Coordinate or perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance when appropriate Report equipment failures, maintenance requirements, missing equipment, and operational concerns promptly Maintain inventory and organization of tools, spare parts, consumables, instrumentation, and field equipment Maintain the Midland shop, warehouse, and yard in a clean, organized, and operationally ready condition Ensure equipment is properly labeled, stored, tracked, and available for upcoming jobs Assist with receiving, unloading, loading, and staging equipment and supplies Support emergency equipment swaps, replacements, and field deliveries Communicate field and equipment status clearly to Texas Operations Help identify recurring equipment problems and opportunities to improve reliability and field readiness Support Permian Basin operations as directed by the Texas Operator Position Scope This position is responsible for equipment readiness, field support, logistics, and Midland facility operations . This position does not have responsibility for dispatching employees, determining employee schedules, or assigning personnel or logging units to jobs. Those responsibilities remain with Texas Operations. Requirements Must reside in Midland, Texas, or within approximately 30 minutes of Midland Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required Reliable transportation required Must be available for after-hours, weekend, and 24/7 on-call operational needs when required Must be able to travel regularly to drilling locations throughout the Permian Basin Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening Must be able to safely perform the physical duties associated with field and shop operations, including lifting, carrying, loading, unloading, climbing, bending, and working outdoors Must be comfortable driving and working in oilfield and drilling-location environments Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Dependable and responsive with the ability to work independently Must be able to prioritize multiple operational needs in a fast-changing environment Strong communication and problem-solving skills Basic computer skills required Preferred Qualifications Previous mudlogging experience Previous oilfield, drilling, field service, or shop experience Experience preparing or maintaining mobile field units or trailers Mechanical or electrical troubleshooting experience Experience with generators, HVAC systems, computers, sensors, instrumentation, networking, or similar field equipment Familiarity with Permian Basin drilling operations and rig locations What Success Looks Like The successful candidate will keep the Midland operation ready to respond. Units leave the shop clean, stocked, functional, and prepared for the job. Returned equipment is inspected quickly. Problems are identified before equipment goes back into the field. The shop remains organized, and Texas Operations has an accurate understanding of equipment condition and readiness. This position is ideal for someone who takes ownership, identifies what needs to be done without waiting to be told, and understands that oilfield operations do not always happen during normal business hours.
