We run modern, high-capacity equipment and are growing our capability to capture higher-value metal markets. We're looking for a hands-on Operations Supervisor to help lead our production floor and develop our operator team. Position Summary Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Operations Supervisor oversees daily production across the shredding line, the downstream nonferrous sorting plant, and the operator crew. You'll be the frontline leader responsible for keeping the operation safe, running, and producing quality material — driving uptime, throughput, and product quality while developing the people who run the equipment. Monitor production quality and yields across nonferrous cuts; coordinate with QC to keep product within spec. Partner with the Maintenance Manager to surface equipment issues early and support the shift from reactive to planned, preventive maintenance. Track and report key performance metrics — uptime, throughput, downtime, and production volumes — and act on the numbers. Troubleshoot operational problems quickly to minimize downtime and keep material moving. Train, cross-train, and develop operators; build bench strength on the crew. Enforce standard operating procedures and continuously improve how the floor runs. Skills 3+ years of supervisory experience in a heavy industrial, manufacturing, recycling, scrap, or aggregate environment. Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working around heavy machinery and moving material. Proven people-leadership skills — able to direct, coach, and hold a crew accountable. Basic computer skills (email, Excel/spreadsheets) for tracking production and KPIs. Able to work full-time, on-site, in an outdoor industrial setting. Heavy equipment experience (wheel loaders / material handlers). Working knowledge of nonferrous scrap grades. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. Bilingual — English and Spanish Work Environment & Physical Requirements Outdoor industrial scrap yard; regular exposure to noise, dust, heat, and weather.
