POSITION
The Lift Operations Supervisor is responsible for providing daily leadership, direction, and oversight of Lift Operations while promoting the highest standards of safety, guest service, and operational excellence. This position assists in managing the daily operation of lifts and the Lift Operations team by ensuring employees are properly trained, supported, and held accountable to established performance and safety standards. The Lift Operations Supervisor serves as a working leader who actively supports frontline operations while performing administrative and supervisory responsibilities. This position is expected to assume full operational leadership in the absence of the Lift Operations Manager and plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, efficient, and welcoming mountain environment for guests and employees. Lift Operations Supervisors play a vital role in creating a safe and memorable mountain experience. Through strong leadership, operational excellence, and an unwavering commitment to safety and guest service, this position helps ensure every employee and guest experiences the highest standards our resort has to offer.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & Supervision Lead, coach, and support Lift Operations employees while promoting safety, accountability, teamwork, and professionalism. Provide performance feedback, coaching, and corrective action when needed. Lead by example by following company policies, operating procedures, and safety standards. Assume responsibility for department operations in the Lift Operations Manager's absence. Operations & Safety Coordinate daily lift operations and staffing to meet operational needs. Ensure compliance with company policies, manufacturer recommendations, and
ANSI B77
standards. Monitor operations, respond to guest issues, weather impacts, and emergencies, and complete required documentation. Promote hazard identification, risk reduction, and continuous safety improvement. Training & Development Conduct new hire orientation and ongoing operational training. Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, evaluations, and workforce planning. Develop employees through coaching while reinforcing safety, guest service, and operational procedures. Administrative Responsibilities Prepare schedules and review payroll/timekeeping records. Maintain training, operational, and personnel documentation. Lead meetings, communicate professionally, and assist with department projects. Guest Service Provide exceptional guest service by resolving concerns professionally and creating a welcoming environment. Collaboration Work effectively with other departments to support efficient resort operations.
SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum three years of Lift Operations experience at a ski resort. Previous supervisory or management experience. Working knowledge of
ANSI B77
standards. Experience with scheduling, payroll/timekeeping, employee development, and administrative responsibilities. Strong leadership, communication, organization, and decision-making skills. Commitment to safety and guest service. Physical Requirements Work outdoors in all weather conditions. Stand and walk on uneven or snow-covered terrain for extended periods. Lift up to 50 pounds and respond quickly to operational or emergency situations. Work Schedule Year-round position requiring weekends, holidays, early mornings, evenings, and schedule flexibility during peak operations.
