The Foreman / Equipment Operator is responsible for leading field crews while actively participating in the execution of construction, inspection, rehabilitation, and repair projects. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both technical field expertise and strong crew leadership skills. The Foreman is expected to safely operate equipment, direct field personnel, maintain productivity, and ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated leader with civil construction experience who enjoys working outdoors, solving problems, and leading from the front. Core Responsibilities Lead and direct daily activities of an assigned field crew Execute daily work plans established by the Superintendent, Operations Manager, or Project Manager Establish daily production goals and communicate expectations to crew members Perform physical construction work alongside field personnel as needed Operate construction equipment, tools, and machinery required for project execution Ensure assigned work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements Maintain productivity and workmanship standards throughout the workday Monitor crew performance and provide direction, coaching, and support as needed Identify field issues, conflicts, or changing site conditions and communicate them promptly to management Maintain accurate records of daily production, manpower, equipment usage, and project progress Coordinate daily material, equipment, and tool needs with the Superintendent or Operations Manager Support project mobilization and demobilization activities Maintain clean, organized, and professional jobsites Represent Blueform professionally when interacting with clients, inspectors, and vendors, and project stakeholders 2. Equipment Operations Safely operate excavators, skid steers, loaders, pumps, generators, and other construction equipment Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks Ensure equipment is utilized safely and effectively Notify management of equipment issues, maintenance concerns, or repair needs Maintain equipment cleanliness and operational readiness Assist with transportation, setup, and securing of equipment 3. Safety & Quality Lead by example in all safety-related activities Conduct daily safety discussions and toolbox talks Ensure crew compliance with Blueform safety policies and OSHA requirements Promote proper use of PPE and safe work practices Identify and address unsafe conditions immediately Verify completed work meets project specifications and Blueform quality standards Minimize rework through attention to detail and quality workmanship 4. Team Development Train and mentor field technicians and laborers Assist with onboarding and development of new employees Promote accountability, professionalism, and teamwork Support development of future crew leaders and foremen Foster a positive and productive work environment 5. Communication & Coordination Communicate daily project status, resource needs, and field concerns to the Superintendent and Operations Manager Coordinate project activities with other crews and project stakeholders as directed Assist with project planning by providing input regarding labor, equipment, and material requirements Maintain professional communication with clients, inspectors, engineers, subcontractors, and utility representatives Support successful completion of inspections, testing, and project closeout activities Qualifications

Required:

5+ years construction experience Experience operating construction equipment Experience leading crews Strong work ethic and leadership ability Ability to read construction plans and specifications Valid driver's license

Preferred:

Water, wastewater, civil, utility, or marine infrastructure experience Inspection and rehabilitation experience Physical Requirements Ability to perform physical labor throughout the workday Ability to lift up to 75 pounds Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions Ability to climb, kneel, crouch, and work on uneven terrain Ability to safely operate heavy equipment and power tools Work Environment Work is performed primarily in outdoor field environments with limited office responsibilities. Daily activities take place on active construction sites, utility facilities, marine environments, transportation corridors, and industrial properties.
