Job Description:
Longwood University invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of Director of Athletics Internal Operations (GA312). This position will be responsible for game day management and leadership in Athletics operations related to event management for Longwood University's 14 NCAA Division I collegiate sports, including post-season tournaments hosted by the institution and special athletic events sanctioned by the Longwood University Athletics Department. This position is located in Farmville, Virginia, and is required to work in person on Longwood University's campus. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate logistical support of all department intercollegiate and clinic events, including team benches, tables, chairs, scoreboards, video needs, etc., and manage staffing needs for each athletic sport and event Serve as liaison with contracted security company, Campus Police, EMS and other external units affiliated with intercollegiate events at Longwood Manage conference tournaments, post-season championships and special athletics events Aid in the hiring and management of student staff Oversight of all Nike / BSN soft goods and team stores Management of Longwood Athletics master schedule Administrator of the Longwood-owned Athletics camps and clinics programs Assist the Business Office with various HR related matters including; appointment, dismissal and various types of payments Assist the Business Office with various types of payments including; Alston, independent contractor and scholarship processing. Assist with general IT repairs Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and/or work experience Master's degree preferred 1-3 years of related work experience in event management required Working knowledge of computers and Windows-based programs, including Excel, Word, and Outlook Strong organizational and communication skills Knowledge of NCAA policies, procedures, rules and regulations Experience in coaching or working at the NCAA Division I level preferred Must be certified in Basic First Aid and CPR; AED training is preferred Demonstrated ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time
Additional Information:
This position is a full-time, administrative & professional faculty, exempt position. The anticipated salary for this position will be $45,658 annually.
