MFA Studios is looking for an organized, visionary leader to take the reins as our Director of Events & Venue Operations . Join us in transforming our space into a premier venue for community events and celebrations while leading a dynamic team to execute exceptional experiences. What You'll Be Doing Event Leadership Plan and oversee all MFA signature events, including recitals, galas, fundraisers, tea parties, showcases, and more. Develop an annual event calendar and create budgets for each event. Maintain event timelines, ensuring smooth execution from start to finish. Conduct post-event evaluations to continuously improve. Venue Operations Transform the MFA facility into a sought-after community event venue. Market venue rentals and conduct facility tours for prospective clients. Prepare rental contracts, schedule events, and coordinate with vendors. Oversee setup, breakdown, and ensure the facility is event-ready.
Potential rentals include:
  • Weddings, birthday parties, and holiday events.
  • Corporate meetings, vendor fairs, and community expos.
  • Dance and cheer competitions, church services, and more.
Revenue Growth Increase revenue through venue rentals, sponsorships, vendor partnerships, and event upgrades. Explore opportunities for booth sales, VIP experiences, merchandise, and advertising. Volunteer & Staff Management Recruit, schedule, and manage volunteers, event staff, vendors, and committees. Ensure all team members are well-prepared with clear roles and expectations. Vendor Management Build and maintain relationships with caterers, decorators, DJs, florists, and more. Negotiate pricing and establish preferred vendor partnerships. Logistics Oversee all event logistics, including floor plans, seating charts, equipment, signage, and parking plans. Manage supply inventory, vendor schedules, and emergency procedures. Marketing Collaboration Work hand-in-hand with the marketing team to promote events, increase attendance, and drive ticket sales. Develop community partnerships and boost venue rentals. Budget Management Take ownership of event budgets, profitability, and expense control. Negotiate vendor contracts and ensure financial reporting aligns with event ROI. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Measure success through event profitability, attendance, sponsorship revenue, and client satisfaction. Track metrics like volunteer retention, rental bookings, and repeat clients.

At least 1 year of experience managing large-scale events and budgets.
